🌏 𝐇𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐲 𝐄𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐃𝐚𝐲!

✨ As we commemorate this day to our Mother Earth, let us revisit 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱-𝗮-𝗕𝗮𝗵𝗮𝘆 𝗞𝘂𝗯𝗼: Plastic Waste Recycling and Vegetable Farming Seminar in collaboration with 𝐘𝐄𝐒-𝐎 Bulihan Integrated National High School in Bulihan, Silang, Cavite on the 20th day of April 2024.

♻️With this seminar, we are able to orient the participants about the UN's Sustainable Development Goals, raise awareness to the youth in order for them to join our cause for Climate Action, and give them ideas on how to use the simplest of trash to contribute to reduce the carbon footprint. The donations we provided to YES-O will be used in their future endeavors for the youth to be active in facing the impending threats of global warming and climate change.

🌏The seminar may have ended, but our mission to heal the planet has started. Let us act as one before the consequences of our inactivity become more dire.

🛖Like the Bahay Kubo or the nipa hut, it may be small but the plants there gave it uniqueness like how our miniscule actions combined can lead to greater results to preserve our environment.

🙋‍♂️ Good day to all, as part of Build-a-Bahay Kubo: Plastic Recycling and Farming Activity's advocacy, we have acquired the necessities for the seminar to be donated to Bulihan Integrated National High School's student organization, Youth for Environment in Schools Organization or YES-O for future use and sharing in the school.

🌱As students, let us take the initiative to preserve what is left of the planet by reducing our carbon footprint by planting vegetables and recycling plastic. We hope that these materials will be put to good use as part of the effort to save Earth from global warming and climate change. Taking action is crucial to achieve Climate Action, kahit munti.

🌾Farming and agriculture play a crucial role in fighting climate change by utilizing carbon from the atmosphere. Through the process of photosynthesis, plants absorb carbon dioxide and store it in their tissues and in the soil. This helps to reduce the amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, which in turn helps to mitigate global warming. Additionally, sustainable farming practices can help to improve soil health and increase its ability to store carbon.

🌏Overall, farming and agriculture offer a multitude of benefits in the fight against climate change. By sequestering carbon, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and promoting sustainable practices, agriculture can play a crucial role in mitigating the effects of global warming and creating a more sustainable future. It is important for farmers, policymakers, and consumers to work together to support and promote sustainable farming practices that help to combat climate change. ..that a small polyethylene terephthalate (PET/ plastic) bottle releases 3 pounds of carbon dioxide?

😰Knowing that there are around 2.7 million tons of plastic annually in the Philippines, how many tons of carbon will it produce to add up to the greenhouse gas emissions?

🌱To lower our carbon footprint, let us follow these tips with our plastic waste:

♻️ Reduce the use of single-use plastic to prevent making excess plastic waste;
♻️ Reuse plastic materials like water bottles by cleaning them before using them for drinking;
♻️ And recycle plastic waste as flowering pots and ecobricks.

This project aims to raise awareness and educate the youth and the community regarding Climate Change and Global Warming and what we can do to reduce our carbon footprint. This promotes plastic waste recycling and vegetable farming as sustainable mechanisms to decrease carbon emissions and reduce plastic waste. This shall serve as a stand for our planet, to save its inhabitants from degradation and destruction due to rising sea levels, increasing global temperature, and scarcity of resources.

In celebration of Earth Month, together, let us make a change, 𝒌𝒂𝒉𝒊𝒕 𝒎𝒖𝒏𝒕𝒊.🌱🌏
