LOOK | Caring for What We’ve Grown! 🌽💚

Yesterday, our YES-O and Gulayan sa Paaralan members didn’t just plant, we tended to our thriving corn plants, clearing w**ds, loosening soil, and making sure everything stays healthy.

It’s amazing to see the fruits of our labor already growing! Every careful sweep and gentle touch is more than garden work. It’s responsibility, teamwork, and love for our school’s green spaces. 🌱

Because in YES-O and GPP, we don’t just plant seeds — we nurture growth, both in our garden and in ourselves. 🌾

LOOK: Sowing Seeds of Knowledge, Growing a Greener Community! 🌱

Held at the Hingatungan Covered Court, the Training on Basic Vegetable Production brought together not only our YES-O officers and Gulayan sa Paaralan members, but also our Barangay Captain, YES-O Adviser, local agriculturists of Hingatungan, and community members who share the same passion for plants and gardening.

With Ms. Rosaryo E. Salas from the Visayas State University – Department of Horticulture as our resource speaker, we learned essential techniques in soil preparation, planting, and nurturing vegetables. More than a training, it was a celebration of unity students, leaders, and plant-loving citizens all working toward one vision: a greener, healthier, and more sustainable Hingatungan. 🌿

Thank you to everyone who joined and supported this activity. Together, let’s keep growing knowledge, food, and community spirit! 💚

LOOK: From Soil to Ideas, We Ended the Day Right!

After the last bell, instead of rushing home, we grabbed our brooms, rakes, and gloves. This was our second cleaning for the Gulayan sa Paaralan, and the afternoon sun couldn’t stop us. We laughed, got our hands dirty, and worked side by side until the garden looked fresh again. 🌱

But we didn’t stop there, we gathered together for a quick meeting, sharing ideas, plans, and a few jokes in between. It wasn’t just about cleaning a space, it was about building something we can be proud of.

Tired? Yes.
Worth it? Definitely.
Because every w**d pulled and every idea shared brings us closer to a greener, better school. 💚

LOOK: Growing Green, Leading Clean!

Today, our passionate YES-O officers and members rolled up their sleeves and got their hands dirty all for a cleaner and greener Gulayan sa Paaralan.

Every sweep, pull, and pat of soil wasn’t just for tidiness, it was for purpose. Because in every leaf we tend and every garden bed we clear, we’re planting more than vegetables. We’re sowing responsibility, leadership, and a future that blooms with care.

Together, we grow not just food, but the heart of a sustainable school.

LOOK: Small acts, big impact para sa mas limpyo, mas responsableng komunidad!

This Friday, the Hingatungan National High School community once again proved that environmental care starts with us. Through the leadership of the YES-O officers, both Junior High and Senior High students rolled up their sleeves and took part in our regular Clean-Up Drive, sweeping not just trash but also the mindset that “someone else will do it.”

With each broomstroke, every hand carried the message of our advocacy, “Ang kalibutan, atong panimalay. Kung kita ang naggamit, kita usab ang maglimpyo.” The presence of our active Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, captured in a post-cleanup photo, highlighted the spirit of youth empowerment. The event concluded with a solemn flag retreat, reminding us that love for the environment is also love for the country.

Through efforts like this, we move closer to building a school that doesn’t just learn about change — we lead it.
