CCLC CONDUCTS BACK-TO-SCHOOL SUPPLIES DISTRIBUTION FOR 125 LEARNERS

In line with its continuing commitment to community service and education, the Candon City Lions Club (CCLC), through its Humanitarian Committee, successfully conducted its Back-to-School Supplies Project on June 8, 2026, benefiting young learners from two elementary schools.

The outreach activity was held at Bagani Togco Elementary School and Amguid Elementary School, where a total of 125 learners from Kindergarten to Grade 6 received essential school supplies.

The initiative aims to support learners as they prepare for the upcoming academic year, ensuring that they have the basic materials needed for their studies.

It was spearheaded by PDG Evelyn Pacquing, Chairman of the Humanitarian Committee, together with the dedicated members of the club. The initiative was carried out under the leadership of Club President, SVDG-elect Edsel Abella, who extended his full support to the Humanitarian Committee.

Teachers and school officials expressed their sincere gratitude for the timely assistance, noting that the supplies will greatly benefit students.

The Back-to-School Supplies Project is one of the humanitarian programs of the CCLC, reflecting the Lions’ enduring mission of service and their commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of the youth.

Ilocos Region Lions Clubs hold Successful General Membership Meeting, Thanksgiving party, and Raffle Draw

Candon City, Ilocos Sur — The Lions Clubs of the Ilocos Region gathered in a spirit of unity and service during the Ilocos Region General Membership Meeting, Thaksgiving party, and Raffle Draw held on May 30, 2026, at Bethsaiba, Langlangca Segundo, Candon City.

The event was attended by members and officers from various clubs across the region, including the Candon City Lions Club, Candon Caring Hearts Lions Club, Vigan Heritage Lions Club, Ilocos Family &Friends Lions Club, ISPSC Candon Campus Lions Club, and the Candon City Leo Club.

The program was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the presidents of the different Lions Clubs in the Ilocos Region.

It was spearheaded by Region Chairperson Mila Remedios V. Tan,MJF with the support of Zone Chair Gemma Galladez, MJF.

The highlight of the event was the awarding ceremonies for Lion Year 2025–2026, which recognized individuals and clubs for their dedication, leadership, and commitment to service.

The honorees exemplified the true spirit of Lionism through their outstanding contributions and unwavering service to their communities.

One of the notable parts of the program was the recognition of CCLC President Edsel C. Abella ,PMJF as Second Vice District Governor-elect and Leo Joshua Jones Sanchez as Leo of the Year for Lion Year 2025–2026.

The raffle draw, which added excitement and fellowship among attendees, was spearheaded by PP Vida Jimeno, MJF, Fundraising Committee Chairperson, ensuring the smooth conduct of the Lucky Roar Club Raffle.

Proceeds from the raffle will support service initiatives such as Feeding, Vision, Cancer, and Medical Missions.

The event concluded successfully, reinforcing unity, leadership, and shared commitment among Lions members across the Ilocos Region.

The Lions Health Fair Project in Sigay, Ilocos Sur marked a historic milestone as the first-ever unified Ilocos Region Lions Service Activity, with all clubs present and actively serving.

This initiative successfully covered nearly all major Lions Causes, with focused efforts on 𝘿𝙞𝙖𝙗𝙚𝙩𝙚𝙨 𝘼𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨, 𝙀𝙮𝙚 𝘾𝙖𝙧𝙚, 𝙃𝙪𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙖𝙣, 𝙔𝙤𝙪𝙩𝙝, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙀𝙣𝙫𝙞𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙡.

The activity served hundreds of adult and pediatric patients, delivering accessible healthcare services and meaningful community support where it was most needed.

The project brought together at least 100 volunteers, making it one of, if not the largest, unified Lions volunteer mobilizations in a single service activity in the area.

This milestone project was initiated by D301C IPDG Sarah Ubungen Pacquing, with the dedicated coordination of RC Mila Tan and ZC Gemma M. Gallandez.

All clubs were present and actively participated:

First Regular BOD Meeting of the Year

A strong start to the year marked the successful conduct of the first regular Board of Directors (BOD) meeting, highlighted by unity, collaboration, and shared dedication to service.

The meeting was attended by PCC PDG Dr. Modesto Pacquing, PDG Evelyn Pacquing, and IPDG Sarah Kathleen Pacquing, together with the members of the Board, and was presided over by President Lion Edsel C. Abella.

Mission of Service: Candon City Lions Club Holds Feeding Program and Health Services in Luba,Santa Lucia

On January 17, 2026, the Candon City Lions Club successfully conducted a mission activity in Luba, Santa Lucia, Ilocos, in line with its commitment to community service and humanitarian care.

The activity included a feeding program, diabetes screening, and the distribution of free reading glasses, aimed at promoting health, well-being, and quality of life among community members.

This initiative reflects the Lions Club’s continuing dedication to serving communities with compassion, responsibility, and a strong sense of social commitment.
