MAHALAGA LCIF RELIEF OPERATION ROUND 2

Continuing the mission of service and compassion, the Candon City Lions Club conducted the second round of the Mahalaga LCIF Relief Operation on August 11, bringing much-needed assistance to affected families in Suso, Sta. Maria, and Tamurong, Candon City.

Through every pack of relief goods and every helping hand extended, we are reminded that every family matters, every community matters, and every act of service matters.

A greener future begins with shared action.

Hand in hand for Mother Earth, the Candon City Lions Club, led by Club President Lion Froilan M. Alusen, MJF, successfully carried out its 2nd tree planting activity for this Lion Year in Brgy. Baballasioan, Sta. Maria, Ilocos Sur.

The initiative was spearheaded by Environment Chairperson Lion Estrella De Peralta.

Guided by a shared commitment to service and environmental stewardship, the activity brought together dedicated partners from the St. Mary’s College Alumni Association, the Local Government Unit of Sta. Maria, NTA Candon, and the Barangay Officials of Baballasioan.

United in purpose, they planted 250 fruit-bearing seedlings along the scenic mountain trail—nurturing not only the land, but also a greener future for generations to come.

Our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who took part in this meaningful endeavor. Special thanks to NTA Candon, led by Manager Adonis D. Lazo, for generously providing the tree seedlings that made this initiative possible.

Together, we plant hope. Together, we grow a better tomorrow.

300 Trees, One Mission: Candon Lions and LGU Sta. Lucia Unite for a Greener Future

A tree-planting activity was conducted on July 29, 2026, at the Sta. Lucia Sanitary Landfill through the joint efforts of the Candon City Lions Club and the Local Government Unit of Sta. Lucia, where a total of 300 seedlings were planted.

The activity was spearheaded by the Environment Committee of the Candon City Lions Club, headed by Chairperson Estrella De Peralta, under the leadership of Club President Froilan Munda Gomintong Alusen. Members of the Candon City Lions Club actively participated in the activity, demonstrating their commitment to environmental conservation.

Local officials, led by Mayor Joseph Simon Valdez and Vice Mayor Eduardo A. Toquero, also joined the initiative and expressed their support for programs promoting environmental sustainability.

Although unable to attend due to official duties, Club President Alusen extended his appreciation to the participants, emphasizing the importance of unity in protecting the environment. He highlighted that every tree planted contributes to a greener future for the community.

The activity reflects the Lions Club’s ongoing commitment to service and environmental stewardship in partnership with the local government and the community.

CCLC Gathers, Connects, and Charges Forward for Lion Year 2026–2027

Members of the Candon City Lions Club (CCLC) successfully convened for the First General Membership Assembly on July 25, 2026, at Max’s Restaurant, Candon City marking a significant milestone in the club’s continuing commitment to service and unity.

Carrying the spirit of fellowship, Lions convened to reconnect, collaborate, and reaffirm their shared commitment to service.

The assembly served as a vital platform to align the club’s vision, discuss upcoming initiatives, and strengthen internal coordination among members.

Club President Lion Froilan Munda Alusen underscored the importance of unity and active participation, emphasizing that the club’s strength lies in the collective dedication of its members.

He encouraged everyone to take part in the club’s programs and to continue embodying the true essence of Lionism through meaningful community service.

The gathering also featured engaging fellowship activities including a raffle, fostering a sense of unity and enthusiasm among attendees.

As the first assembly of the new Lion Year, the event marked a renewed beginning for the CCLC, one anchored in collaboration, purpose, and service. With strengthened bonds and a clear direction, the club moves forward ready to make a greater impact in the community.

Candon City Lions Club Supports Philippine Red Cross Health Caravan with Free FBS and Eye Screening

The Candon City Lions Club proudly took part in the Philippine Red Cross Health Caravan held in San Antonio, Candon City on July 18, 2026 extending its commitment to community service and public health.

In support of this meaningful initiative, the club offered essential health services to the community, including:
1. Fasting Blood Sugar (FBS) Screening
2. Autorefractor Eye Check

Through active participation, the CCLC continues to uphold its mission of promoting wellness and improving the quality of life of the people it serves.

Together with partners and volunteers, the club remains steadfast in bringing accessible and compassionate service to the community.

Candon City Lions Club Kicks Off Lion Year 2026–2027 with Feeding Program and Community Outreach

Rain or shine, the spirit of service prevailed among CCLC members as the Candon City Lions Club (CCLC), led by incoming president, Lion Froilan M. Alusen, officially kicked off Lion Year 2026–2027 on July 11, 2026, at the Darapidap Covered Court in Candon City, highlighted by a feeding program benefiting daycare and kindergarten learners and the conduct of a Free Blood Sugar (FBS) Screening for residents.

The activity was attended by active and dedicated members of the club, demonstrating unity and a strong commitment to humanitarian service.

A major highlight of the event was the launching of the Feeding Program, spearheaded by PP Vida Jimeno, Hunger Committee Chairperson, which benefited learners from the daycare and kindergarten levels of Darapidap, Candon City. The initiative aimed to support the nutritional needs of young children and contribute to their healthy development.

In line with its health advocacy, the club also successfully conducted a Free Blood Sugar (FBS) Screening for residents of Barangay Darapidap, promoting awareness on the importance of regular health monitoring.

Following the kick-off ceremony, the CCLC proceeded to Tamurong Elementary School for the official turnover of a water system, a Legacy Project of the club for Lion Year 2025–2026. Realized during the term of IPP, SVDG Edsel Abella, 2PMJF, the project aims to ensure sustainable access to clean and safe water for the school community.

The day concluded with a meaningful outreach visit to Krizzia, a cancer patient. Through the efforts of the Pediatric Cancer Committee headed by Lion Annie De Guzman, the club provided assistance in the form of an oxygen unit, rice, and grocery provisions, underscoring its commitment to compassionate service.

The successful conduct of these activities marks a strong start for the CCLC in Lion Year 2026–2027, as it continues to uphold its mission of service under the guiding principle, "We Serve"!
