NORECO II received an advisory from the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) requesting demand reduction today, September 16, 2026, from 5:01 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. because of Visayas Grid wide limited generation and limited import power from Mindanao grid.

In view of this, manual load dropping or rotational power interruption is implemented within the franchise area to help maintain the stability of the power grid.

Should rotational power interruption be implemented, affected areas may experience power interruption for approximately one (1) hour per area. The areas to be affected will depend on the demand reduction requirement imposed on NORECO II.

If the power supply situation improves, power may be restored earlier than expected. However, should NGCP require a higher level of demand reduction, additional areas may also be affected by the rotational power interruption.
