The University of Antique ushered in a fresh chapter on May 18, 2026, as the campus community gathered at Tirirpunan Hall to officially greet its newly designated leader, Dr. Godelyn S. Gallega-Hisole. Among the attendees were high-spirited students from the College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) and the College of Maritime Studies (CMS), who hoisted welcoming signs to convey their excitement and support for the incoming administration.

The morning's festivities kicked off with a traditional flag-raising ceremony, reflecting solidarity and optimism for the institution's trajectory under Dr. Gallega-Hisole's guidance. Faculty and students then formed a celebratory procession to accompany the president from the UA Hotel to the main venue.

A vibrant crowd of academic staff and students filled the air with cheers and applause as Dr. Gallega-Hisole arrived, signaling an optimistic future for the university. The milestone event highlighted the solidarity and enthusiasm of the UA community as they look forward to achieving new milestones together.

The College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) marked its 4th Foundation Day with the successful ex*****on of BUTWA 2026. Anchored by the theme “Awakening Rights Amid Modern Injustice,” the event served as a high-level symposium and recognition ceremony, gathering the academic community to reflect on the evolving landscape of justice and human rights.

​The commemoration commenced with a Color Fun Run, transitioning into a formal assembly at Paghusa Hall. In his opening address, Dean Dr. Jhetro Royce E. Espartero emphasized the critical intersection of human rights and the professional responsibilities of future criminologists. This set the stage for the keynote address by Atty. Pauline Grace B. Alfuente, CPA, titled “Voices for Justice: Upholding Human Rights in Society.” Atty. Alfuente’s discourse highlighted the necessity of integrity and compassion as the foundational pillars for law enforcement in the modern era.

​A significant portion of the program was dedicated to honoring the 177 newly registered criminologists, a milestone that underscores the university’s standard of excellence. Complementing this achievement, Dr. Catherine C. Viesca delivered a poignant reminder that character remains the ultimate metric of success. The event concluded with closing remarks from Dr. Elden John D. Aurillo, leaving the CCJE community with a renewed sense of purpose and a commitment to upholding justice in all its forms.

CCJE Ignites BUTWA 2026 with Dynamic Kick-off Event

​The College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) set a high standard for the BUTWA 2026 festivities yesterday, May 14, through a successful combination of a Fun Run and an intensive Zumba session.
​This inaugural activity served as a platform for wellness and professional networking, as representatives from the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) of Sibalom, Antique joined the academic community. Their presence underscored a shared commitment to physical fitness and the enduring alliance between the institution and frontline safety organizations.
​The event effectively balanced high-energy exercise with meaningful social interaction, establishing a positive momentum for the upcoming schedule of BUTWA activities.

On March 30, 2026, in accordance with national safety mandates, the University of Antique conducted a synchronized earthquake and fire drill. The activity served as a critical test of the University's alarm systems, evacuation efficiency, and the readiness of its safety marshals.

The University administration observed a prompt and orderly evacuation process across all departments. This initiative remains a cornerstone of UA's mission to maintain a secure environment and cultivate a culture of vigilance and preparedness among its members.
