F. Bangoy National High School secured second place in the Milo Cheerdance Competition 2026 held at Davao Global Township (DGT) on August 2.

"I am really happy with their performance….we were able to pull our routine successfully despite minimal errors," Arnel Tulabing, the Cheerdance Coordinator said during the interview.

The team’s performance came after weeks of intensive training, enduring late practices and physical exhaustion while perfecting their stunts, flips, and routines.

"Before the Milo Cheerdance Competition, isa sa mga challenges namin ay ang pagkuha ng participants dahil may ilang hindi pinayagan ng parents nila. Naging challenge din ang funds dahil kulang kami sa budget at resources," Tulabing also shared.

Despite the challenges, the Pumas Pep Squad continued to represent F. Bangoy NHS with commitment and teamwork.

"Ang masasabi ko lang sa mga estudyante ay i-nurture at i-develop ang skills na mayroon sila by joining competitions to be more exposed, so they can be able to build their confidence," the Cheerdance coordinator expressed.

The Pumas Pep Squad’s second-place finish highlights the team’s discipline, teamwork, and perseverance throughout the competition.

Enrique Lunop advances as one of the Top Five Finalists in the Davao Region Nutrition Month Poster-Making Contest held on July 18, 2026, at Holy Cross of Agdao College, under the guidance of his coach, Ms. Jay Ann P. Coronacion.

Competing against some of the region's most talented young artists, Lunop showcased his creativity and artistic excellence through a poster that effectively promoted this year's Nutrition Month advocacy, earning him a spot among the competition's top finalists.

"Representing my beloved school was just the beginning. I feel proud of myself," the 12-year-old student shared during an interview.

He also credits his coach for helping him improve his skills and encouraging him to give his best from preparation until the final judging.

"The main idea of my poster is to deliver good food security for a better tomorrow," he added, encouraging fellow students to pursue their passions with confidence.

This adds to Lunop's growing list of achievements, having placed fifth in Editorial Cartooning at last year's National Schools Press Conference (NSPC) in Ormoc City and emerged as one of the Top 5 Best Poster winners in the World Food Day (WFD) 2025 National On-the-Spot Poster Making Contest in Manila.

Aspiring Bangoyan broadcasters competed for a place in the Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC) during the second round of the School-Based Press Conference (SBPC) in the radio broadcasting category held at F. Bangoy National High School on July 21, 2026.

Despite the challenge of selecting only seven representatives from a pool of talented students, Campus Glimpse successfully identified the qualifiers who will represent FBNHS in the Divisions Schools Press Conference (DSPC).

"We had a hard time in choosing these broadcasters because we have many talented learners in school who are capable in this field. We believe that these students, who will still pursue this field in real life, will really reach great heights and make a difference in the society with the use of their voices," said Mark Gil Restor, a radio broadcasting coach, during an interview.

A student broadcaster also emphasized that participating in school-based press conferences served as a valuable training ground for her since she can further develop not only her broadcasting skills but also her overall competence in journalism.

"Participating in the SBPC Radio Broadcasting competition helped me develop effective speaking skills, boost my confidence in public communication, and strengthen my ability to work and communicate with others as a team," shared the participant, Aerielle Limot.

The newly selected qualifiers will undergo intensive training in preparation for the Division Schools Press Conference, scheduled on September 9-15, 2026, where they will represent FBNHS in the radio broadcasting English category.

Special Program in Journalism (SPJ) of F. Bangoy National High School conducted its fifth annual School Based Press Conference (SBPC) on July 13, 2026, at F. Bangoy Senior High School, gathering aspiring campus journalists from different grade levels to showcase their journalistic competence and creative thinking across various contest categories.

The annual event served as the school's official selection process for students who will represent F. Bangoy National High School in higher-level journalism competitions.

"The School Based Press Conference is more than a competition it is a platform where our students learn to think critically, write responsibly, and uphold the truth through ethical journalism. We are proud to witness our young journalists continuously grow in skill and character," SPJ Head Coordinator Jestene Delos Reyes said.

Participants underwent written and performance-based contests designed to assess their accuracy, critical thinking, and ability to deliver factual and responsible journalism under time constraints.

For many student journalists, the event also became an opportunity to gain experience, build confidence, and prepare for more competitive stages beyond the school level.

"Every competition teaches us something beyond winning. It reminds us that journalism is about responsibility, perseverance, and giving a voice to stories that matter. This experience inspires us to continue improving as campus journalists," student journalist Jamaica M. Jammah shared.

In preparation for the next level of competition, the top five qualifiers in each event will undergo weekly training to determine the school's representatives for the Division Schools Press Conference on September 9–15, 2026.

A public-school teacher from F. Bangoy National High School in Davao City showcased Philippine culture in South Korea by implementing his self-developed game-based innovation.

Being one of the four Filipino teachers included in the 2026 Korea-Philippines Teacher Exchange Programme (KPTEP), Dr. Rogar R. Garcia, Master Teacher II, employed “Lee Meets Juan,” his digital game-based learning tool created using the Lumi application, with high school students at Korea International Culinary Arts High School, in Yeongju City, Gyeongsangbuk-do.

“The innovation proved to become an effective instructional approach for promoting cultural literacy, intercultural understanding, and global citizenship competencies among secondary learners,” Dr. Garcia noted, saying that he started his study on April 20.

He added that the initiative did not only improve students’ appreciation of the Filipino culture but also fostered meaningful engagement through interactive learning experience.

“Seeing students proudly earn their Global Citizenship badges, actively participate in Kahoot challenges, collaborate during cultural activities, and embrace diversity affirmed that education truly has the power to connect nations,” Dr. Garcia said.

Further, he said that his journey as an exchange teacher not only allowed him to share the Filipino culture but also enabled him to appreciate the culture and kindness of Korea.

“One of the greatest treasures I will always carry home is the kindness of the students. Their respect for teachers, eagerness to learn, humility, discipline, and genuine care for others deeply touched my heart,” the science teacher shared.

Dr. Garcia hopes to inspire more educators to use innovative digital tools in promoting Philippine culture and global citizenship as he concluded his three-month participation in the teacher-exchange program of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Korea (ROK) and the Asia-Pacific Centre of Education for International Understanding (APCEIU) in partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd).

𝐃𝐄𝐏𝐄𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐋𝐋𝐈𝐆𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄: Strengthening artistic integrity amid excessive A.I use

‎Progressive technology is worth celebrating— but not when it overshadows the artistic spirit of an event created to honor creativity.

‎The 2026 Intramurals concluded with flying colors, as its various events showcased the values of sportsmanship, camaraderie, and creativity. Yet, amid the vibrant festivities and colorful purpose the event championed, one grim reality emerged: the Team Banner event unveiled the growing misuse of Artificial Intelligence (A.I), despite being an event specifically designed to foster and cultivate genuine student creativity.

While the mechanics did not specifically disallow the use of Artificial Intelligence (A.I), the competition became a reminder of how excessive reliance on the technology can undermine student creativity. When A.I replaces the value of human imagination instead of supporting it, it defeats the very purpose of an artistic competition.

‎A contest that is intended to recognize artistic effort loses its meaning when creativity is entrusted to the hands of a numb machine.
‎
‎However, the use of Artificial Intelligence is not inherently harmful on various causes. Because A.I, when used responsibly, can serve as a valuable tool that can improve productivity in our daily lives. However, this strictly requires the guidance of ethical judgement and respect for the objectives of every activity it is utilized in.
‎
Nonetheless, in a competition that is expected to uphold creative endeavor, using Artificial Intelligence to generate outputs compromises the integrity and value it is supposed to represent.
‎
‎As a conclusion, technology is a great tool that can enhance productivity, especially in education. However, schools must still learn to nurture students' originality, innovation, and creativity rather than encouraging an overreliance on the passive work of generative A.I.
‎
‎At the end of the day, innovation should empower creativity, not replace it.

𝐔𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐑 𝐎𝐍𝐄 𝐁𝐀𝐍𝐍𝐄𝐑: Bangoyans must practice true sportsmanship

DILAAB 2026 has undeniably been a resounding success. Our campus has come alive with the fiery energy that defines our intramurals; the bold hues of green, yellow, red, and blue have waved proudly as each grade level gave their very best. For these moments of joy, unity, and shared achievement, we have every reason to be proud.

Yet amid this celebration, it is truly disheartening to witness a growing number of students dismissing or undermining the victories of others. What should be mutual applause has turned into unnecessary criticism and hatred; what should be respected for hard work has become unfounded doubt. This behavior makes us lose sight of the very spirit DILAAB was created to uphold.

Our four colors do not divide us into opposing camps, but represent the diverse strength of F. Bangoy National High School. True sportsmanship means fighting fiercely for your team, but also acknowledging the effort behind every score made against you. It means accepting defeat with grace, recognizing that a loss is not a failure, but an opportunity to learn and improve. It means understanding that every medal, every point, and every finish line reached came after long hours of practice, discipline, and sacrifice.

Rivalry adds excitement to the games, but it should never replace respect. The fire of DILAAB is meant to light our way forward together, not burn bridges between us. Whether we wear green, yellow, red, or blue, we are all part of one school, one community, and one shared future.

As we wrap up this year’s competition, let us carry this lesson with us: the greatest victory of DILAAB is not measured by awards and trophies, but by how we treat one another. Let us celebrate every win as a testament to our school’s talent, accept every loss with dignity, and stand united—truly—under one banner.

Grade 8 and Grade 10 candidates emerged victorious during the Mr. & Ms. Intramurals 2026 held at F. Bangoy National High School, highlighting the talent, confidence, and sportsmanship of each contestants.

Jechris Cunanan of Grade 10 and Trisha Kaye Corpuz of Grade 8 reigned as this year's Mr. and Ms. Intramurals after excelling in the competition.

Despite being one of the junior contenders, Corpuz stood out with her confidence and undeniable charm while Cunanan captivated the crowd with his determination to bring home the crown.

“I felt overwhelmed because wala ko nag expect na makuha diay ko and daghan pud kog na feel sakong self na I didn't do my best, abi jud nako na wala nako nabuhat akong best, mao diay japun nakuha gihapon ko,” Corpuz expressed.

To add, she encouraged her fellow students to trust themselves despite self-doubt.

"Padayon sainyong mga pangandoy and I wish na dili ta mag ulaw-ulaw and don't think of negative thoughts para mapadayon and kung dili mo mag expect, basin diay kamo ang ma Ms. Intramurals next year," the Grade 8 winner stated.

Meanwhile, Cunanan underscored the importance of faith and determination in earning the title.

"It takes confidence, passion, and courage especially when God is there to guide you," he expressed during an interview, reflecting on the principles that guided him throughout the competition.

The annual Mr. and Ms. Intramurals is one of the most featured events, recognizing students who demonstrates confidence, dedication, and sportsmanship throughout the competition.
