Tullio Favali, Dss. Filomena Asuncion, Fr. Rudy Romano, at marami pa.

KINAKAILANGAN NG BAGONG HENERASYON NG KABATAANG KRISTIYANONG KAPANALIG AT KASAMA NG MASA SA PAKIKIBAKA PARA SA LANGIT SA LUPA SA KABILA NG KADILIMAN AT KASAMAAN NG MGA MARCOS AT DUTERTE!

Follow Christ, love thy neighbor, serve the people!

"Freedom of the press and expression are among the hallmarks of a democratic society. However, in the Philippines, these inalienable rights have been continually besieged and repressed by the State. This leads us to question whether the country is truly governed by democratic ideals or by fear, corruption, and weak social institutions that are vulnerable to these social maladies. Thus, as a journalist living in a nation with a besieged democracy, truth-telling becomes an act of resistance." ~ Deo Montesclaros

On the second day of the 58th convention of the General Assembly of Student Councils (GASC), the councils deliberated and adopted three resolutions.

A notable resolution was passed urging the councils to unite for the removal of Sara Duterte from the Office of the Vice President. An added resolutory clause highlighted the call to the Senate to hold an emergency session for Duterte’s impeachment trial, since the upper chamber adjourned session without even discussing the complaint. More concretely, the resolution aims to establish a dedicated ad hoc committee to sustain propaganda efforts and campaigns.

The two remaining resolutions passed were budget-related: first, on the clamor for the UP System administration to uphold transparency on its budget, and second, on the campaign for the reallocation of the 2025 national budget to prioritize education and basic services.
Kabataan Party-list first nominee Renne Co then gave a discussion on the national situation under the Marcos-Duterte regime, particularly the cost of living crisis.
Before the suspension of the session, members of the Makabayan senatorial slate were sponsored a privilege speech. France Castro highlighted how the success of Duterte’s impeachment was in part thanks to student involvement in the movement. She then reminded the assembly that the campaign is not yet over, as Duterte has not yet been convicted.
A mobilization for the conviction of Duterte was conducted at Angeles city afterwards, accompanied by some of the Makabayan candidates. The GASC session will resume tomorrow to deliberate the remaining 15 resolutions.
