Beyond Leadership: Purpose, Passion, and Positive Change
Empowering the Next Generation of Learner Leaders
This March, the Schools Division once again places learner leadership at the forefront as it rolls out two significant youth-centered initiatives: the BAG Conversations on March 2–6, 2026, followed by the Division Federated Learner Government Elections for School Year 2026–2027 on March 9–13, 2026.
Anchored on the theme “Beyond Leadership: Purpose, Passion, and Positive Change,” BAG Conversations goes beyond traditional notions of authority and position. The five-day capacity-building initiative is designed to help learner leaders reflect on the why of leadership—why they serve, who they serve, and how their actions can create lasting impact in their schools and communities.
The theme emphasizes that leadership is not confined to titles, popularity, or power. Purpose calls learner leaders to ground their service on values, integrity, and a clear sense of mission. Passion reminds them that genuine leadership is fueled by commitment, empathy, and the courage to stand for what is right. Positive change, meanwhile, challenges learners to translate their ideas and convictions into meaningful actions that uplift others and strengthen participatory governance.
Throughout BAG Conversations, elected and emerging learner leaders will engage in meaningful discussions, shared experiences, and reflective conversations that nurture servant leadership, responsible citizenship, and youth empowerment. The activity aligns with the Department of Education’s commitment to child rights, learner voice, and holistic formation—preparing students not only to lead organizations, but to influence change with compassion and competence.
Building on this momentum, the Division Federated Learner Government Elections scheduled from March 9–13, 2026 will provide learners the opportunity to exercise their right to vote and be elected. This democratic process reinforces the values of transparency, accountability, and active participation, ensuring that learner representation remains inclusive and truly reflective of the student body.
Together, BAG Conversations and the Division Federated Learner Government Elections affirm that leadership is a journey—one that requires self-awareness, dedication, and a heart for service. As the Division moves beyond leadership, it nurtures a generation of learner leaders driven by purpose, ignited by passion, and committed to creating positive change.
Padayon, Learner Leaders.
The future of governance, service, and nation-building begins with you.
