βYou don't need a title to be a hero. When you act, when you help, and when you save a lifeβthat is heroism. Every Filipino has the power to make a difference.β β Richard J. Dick Gordon, Chairman and CEO, Philippine Red Cross
This National Heroes Day, the Philippine Red Cross honors the courage and sacrifice of the heroes who fought for our nationβand celebrates the spirit of heroism that continues to live in Filipinos who choose to serve others.
Today, heroism can be found in every volunteer who runs toward an emergency, every responder who reaches communities in times of disaster, every blood donor who gives a part of themselves so another may live, and every Filipino who extends a helping hand without expecting anything in return.
As we remember the heroes who helped build our nation, may we also recognize those who continue their legacy through compassion, courage, and service.
Heroes are not only remembered. Heroes answer the call.
Always First. Always Ready. Always There.
