August 21, 2026 | Rotary 101: From a Rotary Club Member to a Full-Fledged Rotarian ๐๐
As August is Rotary Internationalโs Membership and New Club Development Month, what better way to celebrate than by going back to the heart of what it means to be a Rotarian?
It was a full house at the Rotary Clubhouse as members of the Rotary Club of Sta. Cruz, both longtime and new, came together to listen, learn, and participate in Rotary 101, facilitated by our very own beloved member, PP Cherylle Lara Raguini.
Our minds were refreshed and our knowledge broadened as she walked us through the origins of Rotary, its core values, guiding principles, and the ideals that have shaped the organization through the years.
Among the many lessons she imparted, one that particularly stayed with us was her reflection on what it means to be truly โRotarized.โ Through a personal experience she graciously shared, she reminded us that there is a difference between simply being a member of a Rotary Club and truly understanding what it means to be a Rotarian.
Sometimes, that understanding comes not only from what we learn inside a meeting room, but from seeing Rotary and its values come alive when they are needed most.
And what better time to begin that journey than during Membership Month?
On this meaningful evening, we were also delighted to officially welcome three new members into the Rotary Club of Sta. Cruz:
May Abalos Peralta, Pops Romero, and Hope Anne Pulido ๐๐
We warmly welcome you to our Rotary family! May you find not only opportunities to serve, but also meaningful friendships, fellowship, purpose, and eventually, your own story of what it truly means to be โRotarized.โ
For our longtime members, Rotary 101 served as a meaningful refresher. For our newer members, we hope it marks the beginning of a Rotary journey filled with learning, participation, fellowship, and service.
Our heartfelt thanks to PP Che Raguini for generously sharing her knowledge, experiences, and years of Rotary wisdom with us.
This Membership Month, may we remember that growing Rotary is not simply about adding members. It is about welcoming people, helping them find their place, and inspiring one another to become Rotarians at heart.
Service Above Self. Create Lasting Impact. ๐๐
