The Volunteer Health Workers Association of Santa Barbara, Iloilo, Inc. is blessed with 339 active and dedicated Barangay Health Workers. Each one serves with the same heart, the same values, and the same spirit of volunteerism offering their time, effort, and compassion not for compensation, but for the simple yet meaningful desire to keep our people healthy and safe. For us, every small act of service is already a crown of success.

Among our best practices are the Bantay Presyon (BP) Monitoring Project at the Santa Barbara Public Market and the Neem Cream Mosquito Repellent production both aimed at promoting preventive health care and safeguarding our community.

With the full support of our Local Government Unit, the Sangguniang Bayan Members esp. Doc Cha Badon who passed the resolution establishing these programs, our Municipal Health Officer Oe Uaio , and the commitment of our BHW Federated Officers, these efforts became possible and sustainable.

Because of these collective efforts and innovations. The Department of Health (DOH) Western Visayas has honored us with a Plaque of Appreciation a meaningful reminder that our hard work is seen, valued, and making an impact.

The Barangay Health Workers (BHWs) of the Municipality of Santa Barbara continue their voluntary service by monitoring the blood pressure of sellers, buyers, and drivers at the BHW Office in the Santa Barbara Public Market.
Their goal is to help maintain the good health of the community.
With their advocacy, health services are always accessible — they bring the services directly to the people, especially to those who have no time to seek them out.
