Ang Sangguniang Kabataan ng Barangay Coroconog ay muling maglulunsad ng EDUK-AKSYON — isang Educational Assistance Program na naglalayong tulungan ang ating mga college students dito sa Hilagang Samar sapagkat naniniwala kami na “Ang edukasyon ang pinakamabisang sandata laban sa kahirapan.” Kaya nandito kami upang suportahan kayo sa pag-abot ng inyong mga pangarap. 💙📚

Miss Gay Glimmer 2025 was successfully held on August 3, 2025.

The program began with a welcome message from Hon. Alvin Siervo, the Barangay Captain. This was followed by the production number of our six lovely candidates:

Candidate 1: MJ Opiaza
Candidate 2: Maria Stephanie Manalo
Candidate 3: Alexa Surio
Candidate 4: Mikay Bautista
Candidate 5: Athena Total
Candidate 6: Shynee Palacio Cornico

After the performance, the judges were introduced:Ms. Abby Grace Siervo, Mr. Edcel Balanquit, and Ms. Salvador Sosing.

The whole SK Council is very thankful to our judges. It was a great honor to have you as part of this successful event.

Next, the criteria for judging in the preliminary round were explained. This round determined who would make it to the Final 3.

Judging Criteria (Preliminary Round):
Production Number – 15%
Casual Wear – 10%
Swimsuit – 15%
Talent – 15%
Evening Gown – 20%
Hashtag Q&A – 25%Total: 100%

All candidates competed to get into the Top 3. Once the finalists were chosen, scores were reset to zero.

Final Question Criteria:
Answer Depth – 40%
Confidence – 20%
Eloquence – 20%
Choice of Words & Delivery – 20%

The Casual Attire segment came next, where minor awards were given:

Miss Photogenic: Candidate 3 – Maria Stephanie Manalo
People's Choice Award: Candidate 5 – Athena Total

Then, the Talent Competition, Swimsuit Competition, and Evening Gown Competition followed. All gowns were beautifully designed by SK Kagawad Mr. Reyben Lobos and Mr. Jhon Paul Donina.

Candidate 6 – Shynee Palacio Cornico received the most major awards:

Best in Casual Attire
Best in Talent
Best in Swimsuit
Best in Evening Gown
Best in Ramp

The Hashtag Q&A portion came next, followed by the final walk of Ms. Lena Sarsuella, Miss Gay Glimmer 2024.

After that, the Top 3 finalists were announced:
Candidate 6
Candidate 5
Candidate 3
Each finalist answered their final question, and in the end, Candidate 6 – Shynee Palacio Cornico was crowned as Miss Gay Glimmer 2025.

The program ended with the closing remarks from SK Chairman Hon. Ralph Adrian Siervo.

The SK Council is truly grateful to everyone who helped make this event a success the Barangay Officials, the esteemed judges , all those who supported their candidates, the facilitators, and the hardworking SK Council led by SK Chairman Hon. Ralph Adrian Siervo, together with the active Head Committee on Gender Equality Hon. Reyben Lobos and his partner Mr. Jhon Paul Donina.

Thank you so much for your time and effort to make this event successful.

DAY 2 HIGHLIGHTS | Linggo ng Kabataan 2025
The day kicked off with an energizing Zumbatanon where the youth danced and moved with joy and enthusiasm. Everyone participated with full spirit, creating a fun and lively atmosphere!

Following that was the much-awaited Amazing Race Challenge. Three teams from Purok 1, Purok 2, and Purok 3 competed and raced through eight challenging stations, each with its own task that had to be completed before moving to the next. It was a test of not just strength and speed, but also teamwork, strategy, and quick thinking.

In the end, Purok 1 emerged as the champion of the race, followed by Purok 2 in second place, and Purok 3 in third.

The day concluded with an awarding ceremony recognizing the winners from Day 1 and all the games held. Purok 1 was declared the Overall Champion, with Purok 2 as the runner-up, and Purok 3 placing third overall.

LOOK: LINGGO NG KABATAAN 2025 – AFTERNOON SESSION HIGHLIGHTS✨

This afternoon, an HIV Awareness Campaign was held with Sir Emmanuel Avalon Tejares as the resource speaker. He talked about how HIV started, its effects, and how to stay safe and informed. The session helped educate everyone, especially the youth of Barangay Coroconog.

Barangay Health Workers also joined the activity to learn more and help spread awareness in the community. After the talk, Hon. Keren Jane Enero, SK Kagawad and head of the Committee on Health, gave her message of support.

A certificate and token of appreciation were given to our speaker as a sign of thanks.

We truly thank everyone who attended and listened. May the knowledge shared in this symposium serve as guidance and learning for all.

After the symposium, the Modern Games began, followed by the Battle of the Brains where Purok 1 won the competition.

The day ended with a Feeding Program supported and sponsored by the Alpha Kha Paro group. We are very thankful for their kindness and generosity.

This marked the end of Day 1 of Linggo ng Kabataan 2025.

LOOK: LINGGO NG KABATAAN 2025 HAS OFFICIALLY STARTED! 🎉

Today, Saturday, August 2, 2025, marks the official opening of Linggo ng Kabataan 2025! The event began with a fun and energetic walking parade in the morning, joined by participants from Purok 1, Purok 2, and Purok 3. Also joining the parade were the candidates of Miss Gay Glimmer 2025, the reigning Miss Gay Glimmer 2024, our Brgy. Officials, SK Council, our special guests from Alpha Company 74IB,2ID,PA , the Boy Scouts of DJFANHS, and the amazing San Roque TV Media Team.

The program officially opened with Opening Remarks by Barangay Captain Alvin Siervo, followed by support messages from Brgy. Kagawad Jayson and SK Chairman Raph Adrian Siervo.

A symposium on NTF-ELCAC was also held, with 2LT Reman J. Bernal INF Philippine Army as the resource speaker. He gave an important talk about how to prevent terrorism and promote peace. Many participants learned valuable lessons from his discussion.

Certificates of Appreciation were awarded to our guests, including Alpha Company 74IB,2ID,PA and San Roque TV, and the program ended with heartfelt Closing Remarks from SK Kagawad Bealyn Total.

The games officially began right after, and the morning celebration wrapped up at 11:30 AM.

As part of the San Roque Town Fiesta, the Mayor's Cup Basketball Tournament was launched, featuring teams from all the barang**s of San Roque. We are truly thankful to Senior Board Member Hon. Don L. Abalon, who was one of the minds behind starting this event, to Municipal Mayor Hon. Mary Ann Abalon (ate Mean), and to all the municipal officials, and everyone who worked hard to make this tournament possible. This event is more than just a game it’s about building unity, friendships, trust, and sportsmanship. It also helps develop social skills, boost confidence, and strengthen self-esteem among the players.

The Falcons team from Coroconog is honored and excited to join the competition, proudly represented by their kind and charming muse, Angel Lobos, who was hailed as the best muse. They are guided by SK Chairman Ralph Adrian Siervo, along with SK members.
