A Tribute to Nicanor "Nick" Perlas: A Life of Spirit, Service, and Sacred Ecology
We pay tribute and extend our heartfelt thanks to Nicanor "Nick" Perlas—a visionary who embodied Rudolf Steiner’s ideal of being “a helper for humanity, a servant of holy things, selfless and true.” His life served as a bridge between spiritual wisdom and practical action, integrating anthroposophy’s sacred principles into the effort for a just and ecologically balanced world. Nick recognized that genuine environmentalism goes beyond policies or protests—it requires reverence for all life, viewing the Earth as a spiritual being in need of human guardianship.
Through his courage and insight, Nick planted seeds that continue to grow beyond his days. Among his students, Elias carried this legacy forward, nurturing the groundwork for Dihon sa 'Raya. It was through Eli’s workshop with its founders that the organization took form, inspired by Nick’s social vision—where culture thrives in freedom, politics in equality, and economics in brotherhood.
Today, Dihon sa 'Raya aims to honor Nick’s mission by becoming “helpers for humanity” ourselves. We are establishing a Waldorf School in Antique, designed to awaken not only minds but spirits, fostering respect for nature and human potential. As part of the Amlig Antique Alliance, we work to protect Antique’s rivers, forests, and communities—not merely as resources but as sacred entities entrusted to us. For us, this work is sacred, a continuation of Nick’s selfless dedication to truth and life.
Nick Perlas did more than teach; he awakened. He demonstrated that true change starts when we serve something greater than ourselves. His life remains a guiding light, pointing toward a future where humanity lives in harmony with the Earth—not as conquerors, but as stewards of the sacred. We honor him not only for what he built but for the light he ignited within us—a light that still guides our path.
With gratitude, service, and solidarity,
Dihon sa 'Raya Institute, Inc.
