The Young Proactive is a NYC-YORP registered youth-serving organization in the City of San Pedro.

Young Proactive is a youth-serving organization in the City of San Pedro that empowers, and enlightens Filipino youth to reach their full potential, understand their role in the society, set as a good example, and stand for what is right for the benefit of our country. It is officially registered under the National Youth Commission and City Planning and Development Coordinator's Office.

Today marks the 127th year of Philippine Independence.

Over a hundred years ago, our country was colonized by the Spanish Empire, followed by the Americans, and then the Japanese. Despite these struggles, countless Filipinos fought bravely to reclaim our freedom.

Even today, we face challenges that threaten our independence — from violations of human rights, threats to livelihood, poor governance, and external aggression, such as the incursions into our territorial waters in the West Philippine Sea.

But the spirit of patriotism lives on. Many Filipinos continue to stand up, speak out, and fight for a just, free, and sovereign nation. The fight for true independence continues — until every Filipino enjoys the dignity, rights, and freedom we all deserve.

Today, we pause to remember the sacrifice that changed the world. Good Friday reminds us of the deep love and Grace shown through the cross. It is a day of reflection, humility, and gratitude. As we recall the suffering and death of Jesus Christ, may we also remember the hope that follows. May this day inspire us to live with faith, compassion, and forgiveness.

April Highlights

Camp KASAPI: Leadership and Organizing for Democracy
Young Proactive, as part of the KASAPI Coalition, delegated a representative, Mr. Rudge Jinang, alongside Mr. John Christopher Anglon and Mr. Cedric Geronimo, to represent the organization in the said camp training.

The three showcased their skills and intelligence as youth leaders in the community, together with other youth leaders from San Pedro. During the two-day camp, the Young Proactive representatives gained valuable knowledge and insights that they can bring back to their communities in crafting programs and policies that contribute to the improvement of San Pedro.

They also learned various approaches to effective leadership and the promotion of good governance.

Programs like this help mold more young individuals into effective and responsible leaders within their communities.

February Highlights
February 21, 2025 - February 23, 2025

13th National Youth Parliament - Cluster 4 NCR Regional Assembly
The event was led by the National Youth Commission (NYC) under the Office of the President, in partnership with the City Municipality of San Juan. Student leaders and SK officials were invited to attend as delegates. A collaboration of esteemed representatives was formed to produce insightful resolutions aimed at improving the quality of various sectors in society—addressing often-overlooked issues such as the importance of mental health and gender rights.

Parliamentary procedures were applied as the primary rules for the selection of officers and the approval of resolutions throughout most of the program.

Young Proactive participated in the event by sending their own representative Mr. Gilbert Bunyi alongside with Mx. Darrious Raton, Mr. Bunyi was elected as Chairman of the Committee on Education. Our representative took a lead role in crafting one of many key resolutions, which were then consolidated for presentation to the Congressman of the City of San Juan, advocating for educational reforms and inclusive policy implementation.

February Highlights

Ms. Elle Sotero President of Young Proactive attended the National Youth Convention in La Union alongside fellow LYDC members from San Pedro, Laguna.

The event brought together SK, LYDO, and LYDC representatives to empower today's youth leaders, with policy consultations and updates on NYC projects aimed at amplifying youth engagement and empowerment.

After the convention, Ms. Elle Sotero together with fellow LYDC members headed straight to Baguio City for a benchmarking visit—had the chance to meet Mayor Benjamin Magalong, explore the Siglat Baguio Youth Innovation Hub at the Baguio Convention Center, and visit the city's CDRRMO to learn from their best practices.

Ms. Elle Sotero President of Young Proactive and Luzon Sector Coordinator of the National Youth Volunteers Coalition, had the honor to attend the UN-CIVIP Society Engagement Forum of the United Nations held at Novotel Araneta City.

This gathering empowered Civil Society Organizations and NGOs to actively engage in sustainable development efforts through consultations and grassroots-driven suggestions.
