There is perhaps nothing more disheartening than seeing out-of-school children lose sight of their dreams.

Education is a right, yet for the children of Isla Visaya, Barangay Landayan, San Pedro, Laguna, access to learning comes with great challenges. Alongside financial constraints, being situated near Laguna de Bay, the community is no stranger to flooding, where even a little rain can disrupt daily life. It is painful to acknowledge that circumstances beyond a child’s control can also become barriers to learning.

We are therefore fortunate and grateful to bring MISSION POSSIBLE: Pages of Hope × Project Recreate to their community. Art appreciation was taught to kids through creative repurposing. We encouraged them to embrace creativity, resourcefulness, and environmental responsibility by showing them that even what we consider waste plastic bottles can be reused and given a new purpose. In the same spirit, we shared the story of the Good Samaritan, reflecting on the importance of compassion, of something we must always choose to practice.

We also conducted reading assessments to better understand the children’s reading abilities and identify the areas we can focus on during our next visit. After all, meaningful learning begins with understanding where each child stands.

The school supplies and gifts we distributed were more than tokens of support; they were part of a promise to keep showing up. Beyond this outreach, we hope to nurture a lasting bond, deepen their love for learning, and open more doors for discovery and opportunities for these children.

We would be remiss not to give a massive thank-you to Rotaract Club of Pasay Libertad for co-hosting this act of goodwill!

BRINGING HEALTHCARE CLOSER TO COASTAL COMMUNITIES

Kiwanis Club of Pacita Diamonds extends its utmost gratitude to the 102nd Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary Squadron for the opportunity to take part in the Medical-Dental-Optical Mission in Barangay San Roque, San Pedro, Laguna.

The initiative delivered essential healthcare services to the community, recording 137 medical consultations, 126 dental services, and 152 optical consultations, alongside the distribution of free medicines and reading glasses.

May this inspires us to live out the Kiwanis mission more fully, by precept and example, as a more serviceable citizenship. Through purposeful action and a shared commitment to community welfare, we can help create an environment where families thrive, and children grow healthy, learn confidently, and reach their full potential.

The past months of relentless rain have posed significant challenges for many communities, especially for children striving to continue their education despite difficult conditions. In response, the Kiwanis Club of Pacita Diamonds was grateful for the opportunity to extend a helping hand through the distribution of raincoats, white school shirts, and educational supplies to the pupils of Mayapyap Elementary School in Candelaria, Quezon.

As Kiwanians, service does not pause when challenges arise; it becomes even more meaningful. Amid the storms and uncertainties, we stay committed to supporting children and empowering them to pursue their education with confidence and dignity. Through simple acts of kindness, we hope to ease their daily burdens and remind them that their community stands beside them, rain or shine.

More than 150 lives have been lost and hundreds remain missing following catastrophic flash floods and mudslides along the Nepal-Tibet border, with communities, roads, and bridges severely affected.

We are keeping everyone affected in our thoughts, especially the families who have lost loved ones, those searching for the missing, and our dear Kiwanians in Nepal. We are praying for your safety and for strength during this difficult time.

LOOK: Another chapter has been written for Pages of Hope!

A proud moment was celebrated at Paradise Child Development Center in Brgy. Bayan-Bayanan, San Pedro, Laguna as their young learners graduated from the learning program.

The Kiwanis Club of Pacita Diamonds joined in the celebration of the milestone in the learners’ early education. As a pledge of support, KCPD distributed school supplies and food to the graduates, including the many hands and hearts whose dedication continues to shape the nurturing environment that is this Paradise.

This initiative speaks to our club’s enduring commitment to supporting education and expanding opportunities for children. And so we are incredibly grateful to our partners–Rotaract Club of Pasay Libertad and Samahan ng Kabataan Cooperative–for empowering this cause.

“Where have you seen God that day?”

The answer was right before us. He was seen in the youth who showed up with willingness, in the volunteers who generously pledged their time and support, and in every moment of prayer, laughter, learning, and fellowship shared as the day came to life.

For the Kiwanis Club of Pacita Diamonds, PRAYGROUND was more than a Youth Spiritual Development initiative. It was a reminder that spiritual wellness is not an afterthought, but an essential part of a well-lived life. Amid prayers, meaningful conversations, faith formation, and togetherness, young people were invited to slow down, listen, and nurture the part of themselves that seeks meaning, purpose, and a deeper connection with God. In doing so, they were called to remain grounded in faith and rooted in a community that walks alongside them on their spiritual journey.

To the Corinthian Youth Movement (Pacita 1) and the Squirettes of Mary Immaculate of Pacita 1, thank you for journeying with us with such openness and grace. Your presence turned this gathering into a space where faith was not only spoken of, but experienced through a community, through people who choose to gather, serve, and grow together in His name.

We had the wonderful opportunity to serve the young learners of Maligaya 2 Child Development Center in Pacita 1, San Pedro, Laguna, by distributing school supplies and hygiene essentials that support both their education and well-being for Balik-Eskwela 2026.

The warmth and energy of this goodwill is owed to the generosity of all donors, most especially to the committed youth leaders of Corinthian Youth Movement (Pacita 1), as they eagerly hosted the values-centered activities and worship dance presentations that transformed the room into a celebration of good character, faith, and the boundless promise of childhood.

It is a blessing to be granted the grace to serve in ways such as this: to become instruments of God's love and kindness through service, and to witness firsthand the bright potential of today's youth, who are already shaping our communities and inspiring their successors to lead with the same purpose and compassion.
