LOOK | Division Child Protection Committee Leads Alignment on Safe and Motivating Learning Environment

Strengthening shared commitment to child protection and learner well-being, key education stakeholders convened for a Reiteration and Alignment Meeting on DepEd Order No. 006, s. 2026, “Guidelines on Ensuring Safe and Motivating Learning Environment,” on May 5, 2026, at 8:00 AM at the SDO Conference Hall. Participated in by the Division Child Protection Committee, Legal Officer, and Guidance Counsellors.

The activity reinforced key policy provisions, clarified roles and responsibilities, aligned school-level practices with the guidelines, and surfaced implementation concerns to promote safe, inclusive, and motivating learning environments at all levels.

The Schools Division Office of San Pablo City successfully conducted the Basic Life Support and First Aid Training for Learners cm Fire Brigade Seminar on December 9–10, 2025, at the DepEd San Pablo Training Center.

The two-day activity aimed to equip Supreme Elementary Learner Government (SELG) and Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG) officers with essential life-saving skills and emergency response techniques, including first aid procedures and fire safety measures.

Expert trainers from the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) of San Pablo and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) San Pablo facilitated the sessions, ensuring participants received practical and accurate guidance.

Student leaders actively engaged in hands-on demonstrations and drills, building confidence in applying these critical skills during emergencies.

Through this initiative, DepEd San Pablo reinforces its commitment to promoting safety, preparedness, and resilience among learners, empowering them to respond effectively and efficiently in times of crisis.

DepEd San Pablo holds GPOA Workshop to Strengthen Student Leadership

San Pablo City — In line with its commitment to empowering student leaders, the Schools Division of San Pablo City conducted the General Plan of Action (GPOA) Workshop for Student Leaders: Strategic Planning and Leadership Development on August 8, 2025, via Microsoft Teams. With the theme “Empowering Future Leaders through Strategic Planning,” the virtual session gathered officers from SELG, SSLG, YES-O, and BKD, along with organization advisers and guest speakers, to enhance their capacity for strategic planning and collaborative leadership.

The workshop featured insightful discussions led by DepEd officials and educators, including Mr. Jeremy A. Dela Cruz, Ma'am Berleth R. Marasigan, Ma'am Aika Layesa, Ma'am Melody Delas Alas, and Ma'am Bernadette Piring.

Participants engaged in breakout sessions focused on crafting organization-specific GPOAs aligned with DepEd’s core values and school improvement goals. The event emphasized inclusive leadership, accountability, and the importance of planning with purpose. Outputs from the workshop are expected to be submitted to the Division Office by August 22, 2025, as part of the next steps in implementation.

August 02, 2025, DepEd San Pablo City through its Disaster Risk Reduction Management Section in partnership with Youth Formation Section, proudly hosted Treevolution, a dynamic and meaningful activity aimed at promoting environmental awareness, safety, and sustainability among youth leaders and stakeholders.

The event commenced with inspiring Opening Remarks from Ms. Anna Liza D. Banayo, Chief of the School Governance and Operations Division (SGOD). Her message emphasized the importance of youth involvement in ecological initiatives and the role of education in fostering a culture of environmental responsibility.

Participants were then equipped with essential knowledge on Tools and Safety Protocols by Ms. Cherry Mae C. Cimatu, Senior Community Relations Officer of the San Pablo City Water District (SPCWD). Her session provided practical guidance on the proper use of planting tools and safety measures to ensure a secure and efficient tree planting experience.

To deepen the participants’ understanding of environmental issues, Ms. Juvie E. Reyes from the San Pablo City Environment and Natural Resources Office (ENRO) delivered an engaging talk on Environmental Awareness and Ecological Management. Her discussion covered the significance of biodiversity, sustainable practices, and the collective responsibility of communities in protecting natural resources.

Through Treevolution, the youth of San Pablo City were not only able to plant trees but also sow seeds of advocacy, knowledge, and action. The event stands as a testament to the power of collaboration between government agencies and the community in nurturing a greener future.
