On this day, we commemorate the ๐Ÿฑ๐Ÿฐ๐˜๐—ต ๐—”๐—ป๐—ป๐—ถ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐˜€๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐˜† ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐——๐—ฒ๐—ฐ๐—น๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐— ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ฎ๐—น ๐—Ÿ๐—ฎ๐˜„, remembering a dark chapter in Philippine history that brought fear, suffering, and the loss of freedom of many Filipinos.

Behind the pages of history were lives taken, families torn apart, people tortured and detained, and voices silenced.

We remember this day not to relive the darkness, but to carry its lessons forward. For in the future, we continue to uphold truth, justice, human rights, and the freedom that generations before us fought to preserve.

This September, we celebrate Philippine Film Industry Month, a time to appreciate the films, stories, and talented Filipinos who continue to bring our experiences to life on the big screen!

This month, we recognize not only the films that have entertained, moved, and inspired us, but also the people who bring every story to life. From writers who turn ideas into narratives, actors who breathe life into their characters, and directors who bring creative visions to the screen, to the countless production workers whose hardworks happen behind the scenes, every film is a product of passion, creativity, and collaboration.

Philippine cinema may not be without its challenges, but beyond the criticisms are stories worth discovering, artists worth celebrating, and a local industry that should continue to be supported!

Every article carries the work of a journalist who goes above and beyond to bring news information to the public. Their oath has always been to ensure that every Filipino has access to the information they deserve to know.

But when the press is silenced, communities are left uninformed and voices that deserve to be heard are pushed into silence.

This National Press Freedom Day, let us all stand with journalists and media workers who uncover the truth, hold those in power accountable, and put the public interest first. Together, let us ensure that news reaches every community and that every voice has the freedom to be heard.
