ZERO STIGMA. NOT ZERO BUDGET.
Earlier today, marked Zero HIV Stigma Day through a creative media action along Elliptical Road in Quezon City, calling for increased government investment in HIV programs and services ahead of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.โs State of the Nation Address (SONA).
Advocates distributed caps and information, education, and communication (IEC) materials to commuters as a symbol of protection, reinforcing the need to destigmatize HIV prevention commodities such as condoms and PrEP while ensuring that every young Filipino has access to youth-friendly, community-based HIV services.
As the Philippines continues to experience a rapidly growing HIV epidemic, particularly among young people, we call for Zero Stigma, Not Zero Budget, because ending HIV requires sustained investments in prevention, education, testing, treatment, stigma reduction programs, and community-led responses that leave no one behind.
๐กThis Zero HIV Stigma Day creative media action is part of 2.0 (Advancing Equitable and Rights-Based Financing for HIV and SOGIESC in the 2027 National Budget), a project under PANTAY, supported by Australian Government and UNAIDS Philippines, that aims to advocate for increased, equitable, and rights-based government funding for HIV and SOGIESC-related programs that build healthier and more inclusive communities.
