APEX CLUBS IN SAN PABLO CITY HOLD OFFICERS’ SEMINAR
The officers of the Apex Men’s and Women’s Clubs of San Pablo City headed respectively by Alvin Joseph Dequito, owner of Tapsishop San Pablo, Lukkas Barbers San Pablo, SeaOil Mahalika Highway and D’Auto Spa; and Krissa Race, COO of Premier Ace Corp., underwent an organizational management seminar to promote efficiency, effectiveness and responsiveness in managing their organizations and community service projects.
The event, which was organized by Apex Life Governor (LG) and Past National President (PNP) Rolando Inciong, was held at the Apex Clubhouse along Dagatan Boulevard, Sampalok Lake.
The topics discussed and their speakers were Duties and Responsibilities of Club Officers by LG and PNP Romeo Race; Membership Recruitment and Retention Strategies by LG and PNP Rommel Austria; How to be a Successful Apex Officer by Past Apex Women's President and District II Secretary Grace Ciolo; Effective Club Management through Active Committees by Past Apex Ladies Club President Sylvia Inciong; and Promoting the Public Image of Apex by LG and PNP Rolando Inciong.
The Apex Men’s Club of San Pablo City is celebrating its 50th founding anniversary this year while the Apex Women’s Club is on its 13th year.
Apex originated in Australia in 1931 and spread all over Asia, including Bangladesh, India, Malaysia, Singapore, Fiji, and Papua New Guinea, among other countries. It was established in the Philippines in the 1970s. Although a low-profile organization, Apex has made a mark in their communities through their service projects.
In San Pablo City, among its projects are the Bursary Scholarship Program, construction of Day Care Centers through bayanihan volunteer work party with members of Apex Clubs of Australia, campaigns vs. malnutrition and illegal drugs, Annual Talumpatian for High School Students, annual High School Basketball Tournament, youth chess competitions, and many more.
Apex is a family-oriented organization. The current Presidents Dequito and Race are the son and daughter of Past Presidents Aristeo Dequito and Romeo Race, respectively. The two have been exposed to Apex since their childhood and voluntarily joined Apex at adulthood, learning how to lead, and eventually becoming club presidents.
Apex has provided leadership and citizenship training and a number of its members have been recognized as Outstanding Citizens of San Pablo City – Aristeo Dequito, President of CARD-MRI;, Engr. Pol de los Santos, Former DPWH Assistant Secretary; Atty. Edgardo Marilim, Past President of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines-Laguna Chapter; Rolando Inciong, Past President of PCCI-San Pablo City; Romeo Race, Past President of PCCI-San Pablo City and Regional Governor of PCCI Region IV-A; Frederick Torres, EVP of CARD Indogrosir and Chairman of the Board of CARD Leasing and Finance Corporation, Mga Likha ni Inay, Inc., and CARD MRI Business Development Foundation, Inc.; Mark Race, President and CEO of BPI Securities; Joy Dequito, CEO of CARD MBA; Mavic Austria, President of CARD Bank; and City Councilor Carmela Acebedo.
Apex, which meets every second Saturday of the month, welcomes business people and professionals who have the advocacy to help the poor while developing leadership skills and enjoying friendship and fellowship. (RAINCIONG)
