It’s National 4-H Club Week in the Philippines! 🇵🇭🍀

A celebration anchored on Proclamation Order No. 196 s. 1967, which declares every second week of May as a tribute to the dedication, passion, and service of the 4-H Club youth. This week, we honor the young leaders who continue to shape communities through agriculture, entrepreneurship, and meaningful service.

As we join the celebration, we are reminded of the strength of youth who choose to lead, serve, and grow with purpose. Let us continue to support and uplift the 4-H spirit in every way we can—may it be through volunteering, sharing stories of impact, or simply wearing green in solidarity. 🍀💚

Recognized as the 2𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 4-𝗛 𝗥𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝗥𝗼𝗼𝘁𝘀: 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗺 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹, John Lloyd De Lazo’s KATURUAN tells a moving story of legacy, resilience, and purpose.

In a rural community where agriculture is slowly fading, a young man named Loyd faces doubt as he struggles to continue the legacy left by his father. Burdened by harsh realities—dry land, pests, and rising costs—he begins to question his place in a world where fewer people choose to farm.

Guided by the memory and teachings of his father, Loyd discovers a renewed sense of purpose through the 4-H organization. There, he learns that agriculture is not a dying tradition, but an evolving force shaped by innovation, resilience, and collective action.

As he witnesses farmlands being replaced by urban development and the youth losing interest in farming, Loyd takes it upon himself to inspire change. Through knowledge, action, and belief, he helps awaken a new generation.

Congratulations to everyone for a job well done. You truly embodied the spirit and dedication of a 4-H member, showcasing your talents and skills. The culminating activity marked the successful completion of the 240-hour On-the-Job Training of the student interns at the Office of the City Agriculturist. This event served as the formal closing of their hands-on experience in agricultural extension work and office operations, highlighting the knowledge and skills they gained throughout their training.

The interns, Cheerly Antoneth C. Azucena, John Lloyd B. De Lazo, Jerick G. Mapalad, Mary Grace C. Ramos, and Lester M. Sanchez, were able to apply their academic learning in real workplace settings, enhance their technical and interpersonal skills, and gain valuable exposure to both office and field-related activities. Their experience strengthened their sense of responsibility, teamwork, and adaptability in a professional environment.

This milestone reflects not only the completion of their required training hours but also their growth as future agricultural practitioners. Gratitude is extended to the supervisors and personnel of the Office of the City Agriculturist for their guidance and support throughout the entire journey.

The 4-H members participated in the training program titled Capacity Development on Proposal Writing for 4-H Members. Ma’am Marielle Celeste Dayanghirang served as resource speaker, who shared valuable knowledge,practical skills and steps on how to write clear, organized and effective project proposals.

After the discussion, each group did actual writing activities, exchanged insights, and worked together to share and develop own ideas.

The training was attended by 4-H members and On-The-Job Trainees from Laguna State Polytechnic University Nagcarlan Satellite Campus

The members of the 4-H Club and some staff from the City Agriculturist’s Office successfully participated in training on seminar titled "Microgreens production and entrepreneurship workshop" the seminar held on March 26, 2026 at Green Valley Subdivision, Brgy San Francisco, San Pablo City, Laguna.

Opening Remarks will be delivered by Executive Assistant for Agriculture Mr. Pepito Bonilla, Executive Assistant Mr. Dominador Salvacion Jr. who will welcome participants, share the purpose of the workshop, and highlight how learning about microgreens can help individuals.

The seminar focused on microgreens production and how to turn it into a business. Mr. Eduardo Cleofe served as the resource speaker for the activity. He is the owner of Luntiang Republika, a well-known enterprise specializing in plant-related products. He highlight the health benefits of microgreens. During the session, Mr. Cleofe shared step-by-step techniques for planting, caring for, and harvesting of microgreens This workshop focused on microgreen production and entrepreneurship, aiming to equip the 4-H Club San Pablo with the knowledge and skills needed to establish a sustainable income-generating project.

This seminar led by 4-H Club Coordinator Mrs. Marites S. Malijan, along with 4-H members and On-The-Job-Trainees from Laguna State Polytechnic University-Nagcarlan Satellite Campus. This program also happen through continous support of Supervising Administrative Officer Ma'am Erlene A. Delgado

Through this initiative, the Office of the City Agriculturist and the 4-H Club San Pablo continue to empower youth in agriculture by promoting innovation, sustainability, and entrepreneurship.
