For the past two months, we were able to use our voice, knowledge, and privilege to share our advocacy to the media.

We've discussed different eye openers with regard to one of the most prominent issues in our country, the unequal representation of skin color. We've also met different people who share the same advocacy as us. And we have tackled things about dealing with the social issue that we are facing today.

It was a roller-coaster ride. The joy of making the Morena people out there feel loved and accepted. The fulfillment of knowing that you are doing something to make this community a safer place for everyone. And the emptiness of knowing that this issue still has a long way to go before it completely ends.

All of these were felt, but the word that will sum it all up? EMPOWERING.

We are grateful to everyone who showed their support to this campaign and we are beyond delighted that we were able to freely share our advocacy.

As this page comes to an end, our advocacy will remain and we still hope that this movement will be the start of something bigger and better.

It was a tough two-month ride, and it was all worth it.

Thank you for sticking with us. Remember to stand proud because I am more, we are more.

Different people have different experiences. But what do people of color have in common? They have experienced discrimination because of their skin color.

A research conducted in 2019 showed the Hispanic Discrimination Experiences by Skin Color and the results are, as usual, disappointing but not surprising.

May this EYE OPENER serve as a reminder that people are still being treated harshly and we need to do something to avoid it. Stay tuned to our next post for we'll be discussing the things that we can do to fight this battle. 🤎

It is a sad and disturbing truth that a lot of people experience hate crimes, but experiencing it because of someone's race and color is even more threatening.

Her experiences in a society where unfair treatment towards people who have 'darker' skin color is something that every morena have experienced.

But with the connections she made with other people who have the same color as her, she was able to own what she has.

It is important to surround yourself with people who value and treasure you no matter what color your skin is. So this is a reminder that a healthy and inclusive community is the beginning of confidence, love, and acceptance. And it starts with you! 🤎

It is admirable how one's advocacy can also empower others and Ms. Ayn Bernos is a living representation of that.

Filipina teenagers have been experiencing this problem with their "Filipino skin" but have you ever wondered how this whole thing is so deeply-rooted in our society? Well, it all boils down to the Spanish colonization that happened years ago.

People with light skin were favored more, making it a social standard that having light-skin automatically makes you beautiful and more likable. And that, friends, is the problem that we are facing today.

The I'morena Campaign aims to empower the Filipino Youth to tackle important social and cultural issues about the representation of the Morena Community in our beloved country, the Philippines. We envision a future where unequal representation is not only illogical and immoral, but unthinkable.
