Creativity came to life, ink met determination, and lenses captured stories with purpose as the Campus Journalists of Vedasto R. Santiago High School competed in the Final Round of the School-Level Press Conference.

The finalists demonstrated their journalistic excellence across various individual categories, including News Writing, Feature Writing, Editorial Writing, Column Writing, Sports Writing, Copy Reading and Headline Writing, Editorial Cartooning, Science Writing, and Photojournalism. More than the culmination of a competition, the final round serves as the beginning of a greater journey as these young storytellers prepare to represent the school at the EDDIS-level Press Conference, carrying with them the pride and excellence of the Vedastian community.

Ink flowed, creativity soared, and lenses captured powerful stories as Campus Journalists of Vedasto R. Santiago High School gave their all on the third and final day of pre-final round of the School Level Press Conference, July 17, 2026.

Competition in Editorial Cartooning, Science Writing, and Photojournalism kept the energy high. As the School Level Press Conference entered its final stretch, these young aspiring Campus Journalists now set their sights on the EDDIS-level, ready to carry the school's banner with pride and uphold the generation of seeking truth and speaking truth.

The day's events focused on intensive lectures, hands-on workshops, and mock write-offs to select and prepare the school's next powerhouse delegation for the upcoming EDDIS-level competition. Aspiring writers showcased their skills in Feature Writing, Editorial Writing, and Column Writing across both English and Filipino categories.

As part of the school's implementation of stricter entry measures to strengthen campus safety and security, Vedasto R. Santiago High School conducted a routine bag inspection for all learners entering the campus today, July 14, 2026.

The inspection, carried out by the school's campus security personnel, aims to prevent the entry of prohibited items and ensure that only academic materials and other school-compliant essential items are brought onto the school premises. This initiative reflects the school's continuing commitment to providing a safe, secure, and orderly learning environment for all members of the school community.

By working together and observing established security protocols, everyone contributes to making Vedasto R. Santiago High School a safer place to learn.

Today, July 2, 2026, Vedasto R. Santiago High School officially welcomed Mrs. Jennet A. Manalo as its new School Principal IV through an installation program.

The event was attended by teachers, school heads, and stakeholders from San Rafael National High School and Vedasto R. Santiago High School. Mrs. Manalo was warmly received by the outgoing School Principal IV, Dr. Bienvenido L. Guevarra Jr., together with the non-teaching personnel, department heads, and administrative staff.

Mrs. Manalo is the seventh School Principal to lead VRSHS since its establishment in 2002. She began her first day by touring the school campus to familiarize herself with its facilities and the vibrant community she will now lead.
