Republic Act No. 12295, which officially converts the Josefina H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) into the Zamboanga del Sur State University (ZDSSU), has lapsed into law.

The newly established university is expected to boost access to quality higher education and further strengthen academic and research development in the province.
