KASALIKA strengthens partnership with Mabuwaya through co-management of the Baletarium Project. On November 23, 2025, Program Director Rowel Dumlao presented the project proposal, while Forester Sammy Cadano explained the baletarium’s vital role in providing safe nesting sites for endangered waterbirds and habitat for the Critically Endangered Philippine crocodile (Crocodylus mindorensis).

The day continued with hands-on bamboo and balete seedling propagation alongside NSTP students from ISU Cauayan Campus, followed by an insightful tour of the Philippine Crocodile Conservation Area. Together, we plant hope for birds, crocodiles, and future generations. 🐦🌱🐊

Today, we celebrate you — our guiding light whom we lovingly call “Mommy.”

Mommy, salamat po sa walang sawang pagtuturo, paggabay, at pag-intindi sa amin. Alam naming hindi madali, pero you never gave up on us. You believed in our potential even during the times we doubted ourselves. You reminded us that we, the youth, can be the blueprint of tomorrow — strong, responsible, and full of hope.

Through KASALIKA, you’ve shown us what it truly means to care — not only for the environment, but also for one another.

Happy Birthday, Miii!!💚💚

KASALIKA and SALAKNIB Celebrate Teachers with Heartfelt Events

Two special events in early October 2025 brought together KASALIKA, led by Program Director Rowel Dumlao, and SALAKNIB, under Lieutenant Colonel Ericson Bulosan, to honor teachers for World Teachers’ Day. Held at different schools, both events shared the same goal: to thank teachers for their hard work and dedication.

On October 3, 2025, the groups visited Alibadabad National High School (ANHS) for a memorable celebration. Working with Supreme Student Leadership Government (SSLG) President Nadine Louryze Edillor, they gave teachers small gifts to show appreciation for their important role. The gift-giving was led by 2nd Lieutenant Marc Delante and KASALIKA Adviser SPD, who shared a touching message: “Imagine a world without our amazing teachers.” SPD highlighted the sacrifices teachers make every day.

Students added joy to the event with lively dance and singing performances that amazed the teachers. SSLG Adviser Jesus Valenzuela, in his opening speech, said teachers love their work but need support from the community. ANHS Principal Jun Lagua thanked the Philippine Army, Local Government Unit, and KASALIKA for their teamwork in making the event special.

On October 9, 2025, KASALIKA joined Philippine National Police officers to visit Minanga School. There, they also gave gifts to teachers to show gratitude for their efforts.

These events show KASALIKA and SALAKNIB’s commitment to honoring teachers and supporting education. Follow the KASALIKA page for more updates.

SURPRISE VISIT BRINGS COMMUNITY TOGETHER

KASALIKA News Update
October 3, 2025 — San Mariano, Isabela

In a delightful turn of events that caught everyone off guard, a group of dedicated public servants from the Philippine National Police (PNP) and local barangay officials made an unexpected stop at the office yesterday, injecting a dose of camaraderie and collaboration.

The surprise visitors are Sir PLT Nalliw of the Philippine Mobile Force and Team, alongside Kagawad Ariel Daniel and Kagawad Sally Pacleba from Barangay Dibuluan. Their surprise arrival at the office, were they also greeted Ma'am Susana Duca, KASALIKA Adviser, set the tone for what would become a day of unexpected connections and enthusiasm for community initiatives.

"Nagulat nga ako. Nag chat sa akin si Ariel na pupunta raw sila sa bahay. Ayun pala nandun na sila sa labas ng gate, kasama ang PNP." said by the adviser, Ma'am Susana Duca.

After a warm and concise round of introductions between the two parties, we wasted no time and quickly headed to the Philippine Crocodile Conservation Center (PCCC), San Mariano, Isabela. Coordinated seamlessly through Ma'am Marites Balbas, and warmly welcomed by the center's coordinator, Kuya Jun.

Some says, It was amazing and exciting to learn about these animals and to see them in real life. The PNP and Team had the best time looking at the crocodiles and walking around the center.

While we're there, the groups talked about upcoming events and how they can work together to help our community. A student-representative from ISU-San Mariano joined them too, making the group even stronger. They both shared ideas about further programs and other plans they want to create and implement to make the community better. We discuss awareness campaigns up to boot camps, that all aimed at building local resilience.

The group wrapped up their visit on a high tone, exchanging contact details and parting ways, leaving promises of follow-ups. What started as a quick simple drop-in evolved into a great day of teamwork and partnerships.

In this time, where collaboration between communities are more crucial and rare than ever, today's surprise visit serves as a heartening reminder: sometimes, the best connections happen when you least expect them.

What an unforgettable whirlwind of faith, talent, and unity during The Our Lady of Peñafrancia Patronal Fiesta 2025! On September 19, we lit up the stage with the electrifying Peñafrancia Got Talent competition, where skills and dreams collided in a spectacle of pure magic. The night was filled with unexplainable joy when our very own actor Roven Alejandro serenaded the crowd. That same day, we sealed an inspiring partnership with Capt. Aries Madula, forging new bonds.

The energy carried straight into September 20, as folks joined the iconic Fluvial Parade —a breathtaking river procession Ahonoring Our Lady of Peñafrancia—followed by a soul-stirring Mass that reminded us all of the power of devotion and togetherness. Grateful for these moments that make Peñafrancia truly shine! 🌊✨

We recently had the joy of spending time with seven bright Grade 4 learners at San Mariano II Central Integrated School who are working hard to improve their reading and writing through the National Literacy Remediation Program. Alongside their incredibly dedicated teacher, Ma’am Jessica Camba — whose warmth and passion radiate through every moment with her students — we brought school supplies, played games like spelling bee and stop dance, and took time to simply connect by introducing who we are as KASALIKA. It wasn’t just about giving things or playing games; it was about showing up, sharing laughter, and reminding these kids that they’re seen, supported, and believed in. And while we went there hoping to bring some joy, we left with even more — a heartfelt reminder of why we do what we do at KASALIKA.
