There are places that can be reached by road, and there are places that require a little more courage, effort, and determination.
For the Area 3 Interclub Project of Inner Wheel District 377, our journey brought us across the waters to Barangay Pamarawan, Malolos, Bulacan—an island community home to more than 5,000 residents, where reaching the people means leaving the road behind and traveling by boat. 🛶
🏝️ ABOUT ISLA PAMARAWAN
Pamarawan is a coastal island barangay of Malolos, surrounded by the waters of Manila Bay. Unlike communities connected by roads and bridges, Pamarawan can only reached by boat, making access to services and resources more challenging for its residents.
For many of us, crossing the water may simply be a journey. But for the people of Isla Pamarawan, the sea is part of everyday life—and sometimes, it can also mean that essential services are farther away.
That is why "Handog Kalinga sa Barangay Pamarawan" became more than just a medical mission.
It became a commitment to bring care closer to the people who need it. ❤️
Led through the collaborative spirit of Area 3, the Inner Wheel Club of Balagtas, Inner Wheel Club of Malolos, and Inner Wheel Club of Santa Maria joined hands to bring much-needed medical services directly to the island community.
The mission provided:

🎀 Pap Smear
🩷 Breast Cancer Screening
🩸 Hemoglobin Testing
🦴 Bone Density Screening
👨⚕️ Excision of Cysts
👶 Circumcision
💊 Free Medicines
Every consultation, every screening, every procedure, and every medicine represented a simple but powerful message:
"Your health matters. You matter.” ❤️
Special appreciation goes to Dra. Marivic Bajao of IWC Santa Maria and Pres. Coco Bunuan of IWC Malolos, whose extra effort and determination helped make this outreach to Isla Pamarawan possible. They went beyond the usual boundaries of service, helping bring the mission closer to the islanders and ensuring that the spirit of Inner Wheel reached even across the waters.
We are also grateful for the leadership of DC Mary Ann B. Dela Cruz, whose guidance continues to encourage District 377 to strengthen collaboration and bring meaningful service to communities that need it most.
