AI can help architects work faster and come up with new ideas, but it cannot completely replace them. Architecture is more than just creating drawings and designs. An architect needs to understand the client’s needs, the site, the budget, the rules, and how people will use the space.

AI can provide ideas and suggestions, but architects still make the important decisions and take responsibility for the project. AI is simply a tool that can support architects, not replace the role they play.

On August 22, 2026, the United Architects of the Philippines La Union Chapter demonstrated its commitment to innovation and leadership by hosting the "Young Architects' Conference 2.0: Orientation of New Architects" at Gefseis Greek Grill in San Juan, La Union. This event was chaired by the UAP La Union Director for Young Architects, Ar. Silvester John Yapit and co-chaired by Ar. Meg Madayag.

Rallying under the theme "Design the future. Shape what’s next," the conference provided emerging practitioners with actionable career guidance while driving the 10 Strategic Goals of the UAP Movers of Progress 2.0 framework (encompassing key pillars such as Be Seen, Go Global, Design Excellence, and Pinas Pride).

To bridge national organizational vision with real-world practice, five distinguished speakers shared their expertise across various career tracks:

Ar. Rossano Baradi, MS Arch, euap (UAP Membership): Outlined strategies for new inductees to maximize organizational benefits, active participation, and institutional support.

Ar. Rosalyn Casison-Guray, uap (Government Practice): Navigated public sector opportunities, policy integration, and civic architectural governance.

Ar. Den Kent Olidan, uap (Private Practice): Shared practical knowledge on firm management, client relations, and practice sustainability.

Ar. Roberto Dyquiangco, uap (Architect as an Academe): Highlighted the vital role of educators in architectural research and design pedagogy.

Ar. Franz Gonzales, uap (Personal Branding): Delivered insights from Singapore on building a distinct professional brand and positioning Filipino architects globally.

By seamlessly connecting big-picture strategy with real-world mentorship, the UAP La Union Chapter established a strong benchmark for member empowerment. The event was made possible with the support of industry partners Emerald PVC Pipes and Davies Paints.

The United Architects of the Philippines District A1a Planning and Assembly, held on August 21, headed by District Director Ar. Ryan Wong Ching, brought together regional leadership for strategic alignment, governance, and fellowship. Co-hosted by the UAP La Union, UAP La Union Lam-ang, and UAP La Union Agila chapters, the event delivered seamless coordination and warm hospitality.

Delegates representing 13 out of 15 local chapters—led by their Chapter Presidents and executive officers—gathered to chart the roadmap for the upcoming term. The day kicked off with a lively "Chapter Connection Bingo" icebreaker, connecting members and reinforcing that no one stands alone within the district.

Key highlights included the election of the new District Council to guide strategic direction, as well as presentations from each chapter detailing their accomplishments, best practices, and community initiatives.

Through productive dialogue, the leadership body reached a decisive consensus on the primary resolution. Beyond official deliberations, strong camaraderie defined the assembly, leaving District A1a united and energized for the administrative term ahead.

​An architect doesn't operate in the shadows plotting schemes. We spend years in school, pass rigorous board exams, and stare at complex building codes, zoning laws, and structural equations until our eyes cross, all to ensure that the roof over your head won't collapse during an earthquake or a typhoon.

​When you call us a scammer, you’re looking at a profession built entirely on public safety, legal accountability, and turning raw land into safe, functional homes and communities. The only thing getting scammed here is our sleep schedule, and the only "masterminding" we do is trying to figure out how to make a client's dream design fit safely within reality and a budget.

​Respect the profession. We design the spaces where you live, work, and raise your families—we aren't the villains of a crime drama.
