AMANGPINTOR UPDATED PROFILE
Elito Circa, internationally known as "Amangpintor", is a renowned Filipino folk and contemporary artist recognized for his unconventional techniques, cultural advocacy, and distinctive artistic identity. A self-taught artist from Pantabangan, Nueva Ecija, he is best known for painting with his hands, fingers, and fingernails painting technique for acrylic and oil paints and for using unusual materials for his Masterpieces such as his own blood, hair, fruit sap, and other natural resources.
Amangpintor founded "Indigenouism Art", an artistic movement that promotes indigenous and locally available materials while advocating environmental conservation and raising awareness about global warming. His unusual methods, particularly his blood and hair paintings, have attracted international media attention and generated discussion about the boundaries between traditional and contemporary art.
Beyond exhibitions, Amangpintor brings art directly to communities through workshops, cultural exchanges, live painting performances, and the "Amangpintor Art Charity". His advocacies include Mental Wellness and Eco-Education Rights for Children, using Spirit Art, color healing, and creative expression to inspire people of different ages.
Through international exhibitions and cultural activities, Amangpintor represents a bridge between Filipino folk traditions and contemporary artistic expression. His advocacy-driven works demonstrate how art can preserve cultural identity, promote environmental responsibility, support communities, and inspire creativity beyond conventional galleries.
