KILALANIN ANG ATING TAGAPAGSALITA! ๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’™

Siya ay isang Registered Psychometrician at Grade School Guidance Associate sa Nazareth School of National University. Nagtapos siya ng kursong BS in Psychology at kasalukuyang kumukuha ng MA in Counseling sa National Teachers College.

Sa seminar na ito, tatalakayin niya ang help-seeking behavior at emotional reliance sa panahon ng artificial intelligence at kung paano hinuhubog ng teknolohiya ang paraan ng pagproseso natin ng emosyon at paghahanap ng suporta.

Hindi ito simpleng pag-iyak lamangโ€”ito ang ating emosyonal, pisikal, at mental na kalusugang nanawagan ng tulong at malalim na pang-unawa.

Ang paniniwala na ito raw ay pawang kahinaan lamang ng mga kabataang lunod sa social media ay isang tradisyunal at makalumang paraan ng pag-i-invalidate ng mga kontemporaryong isyu ng ating mga anak, kaibigan, at iba pang mamamayan.

Sa katunayan, ang depresyon ay isang tunay na karanasan. Isang aktwal na paghihirap ng ating sarili mula sa labis na kalungkutan, kawalan ng ganang mabuhay, pagkaramdam ng labis na pagbaba sa motibasyon at pag-asa, kawalan ng gana kumain, insomnia at marami pang iba (WHO, 2025).

Maraming ugat ang seryosong pangkalusugang isyung ito, at ang pagtawag dito bilang kahinaan ay hindi isang akto ng katatagan. Sapagkat ang tinatawag na โ€œkatataganโ€ nito ay isa pa ngang akto ng โ€œemotional suppression,โ€ kung saan pinapatay natin ang ating mga emosyon (lungkot, hiya, galit, atbp.) sa halip na kilalanin bilang normal na parte ng pagiging tao na kailangan nating tugunan at intindihin (Costa, 2020).

Sa patuloy na pagpapakalat ng stigma laban sa mental health issues katulad ng depresyon, hindi lamang nito pinapaliit ang oportunidad sa ligtas at bukas na pamayanan, mas pinapahina lang din nito ang kalooban ng mga nakararanas na manghingi ng tulong sa ating kapwa.

Libre lang ang umunawa. Kaya sa abot ng ating kamalayan, ating tingnan ang mga isyung pangkalusugang ito nang may bukas na mata, tainga, at pag-iisip.

Sapagkat hanggang sa dulo, ang depresyon ay hindi isang kahinaan, at hindi kailanman.

Ang depresyon ay nangangailangan ng ating tulong, at hindi ng panghuhusga.

SUNDAY IS REST DAY!!
Today marks the second and final day of Dakilaโ€™s event, โ€œStahp, Rest, Then Gow: A Community Care and Wellness Event for Youth Leaders,โ€ held at the Commission on Human Rights Office.

This activity serves as a guide on how we can better take care of our mental health, assess our well-being, and extend support to the members of our organization and community. It reminds us that mental health truly matters and that taking a break is not being lazy, but a way to recharge and become more productive.

2025 World Mental Health Dayโ€™s theme is Mental Health in Humanitarian Emergencies ๐Ÿ’š๐ŸŽ—๏ธ

Recent crises in the Philippinesโ€”from flood control corruption to the recent earthquakes and relentless typhoonsโ€”remind us that disasters are not only physical but also deeply psychological, taking a toll on our collective mental health. Yet these impacts are preventable; natural hazards like typhoons and earthquakes only become disasters when systems fail to prepare and protect communities.

True resilience is not about surviving through diskarte or bayanihan alone, but recovering because systems work: with preparedness, accountability, and care. Through proper planning and preparation, effective disaster-preparedness and mental health policies, and early interventions like psychological first aid, clear information dissemination, and community support, we can stop the loss of lives and livelihoods from being seen as a normal part of natural hazards.

Corruption amplifies the risk of humanitarian crises. Living in a natural hazard-prone nation should not mean constant sufferingโ€”it should inspire a commitment to safety and security, easily available resources and access for recovery and support, and mental well-being for all. We urge our policy-makers, government officials, and community leaders to invest in long-term preventive measures that address the mental health needs of Filipinos, especially the most vulnerable, in times of crisis.

As we celebrate World Mental Health Day, let us call for accessible, community-based mental health care supported by strong policies and the collective effort of government, key partners, and communities working together to strengthen systems to have a Filipino nation that not only survives crisesโ€”but heals, rebuilds, and thrives beyond them.

Ngayong araw ay ginugunita ang Su***de Prevention Day๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›.

Sa temang โ€œChanging the Narrative on Su***de,โ€ nilalayon ng araw na ito ipaalam sa lahat na ang bukas na pag-uusap tungkol sa su***de ay hindi panganibโ€”kundi paraan upang maiwasan ito. Ang pagkakaroon na ligtas na espasyo para sa usaping mental health ay nagbibigay-daan para maibahagi ng mga tao ang kanilang mga nararamdaman, at makahanap ng tulong, pakikiramay, at mas malalim na pag-unawa.

Panahon na upang itaas ang boses para sa mental health. Ating iangat ang adbokasiya para sa mas matibay na mga polisiya, matiyak ang serbisyong abot-kaya at bukas para sa lahat, at lumikha ng ligtas na mga espasyo para sa bawat Pilipino.

Sama-sama nating iwanan ang kultura ng stigma at diskriminasyon, at palitan ito ng pag-unawa at malasakit.

Hinihikayat namin ang lahat na maging karamay sa ating mga kasamaโ€”umpisahan ang pag-uusap at ipagpatuloy ito kasama ang pamilya at mga kaibigan, dahil MAIIWASAN ANG SU***DE.
