"Keep trash away from street drains"
Did you know that littering is a major cause of city flooding? When plastic wrappers, bottles, and other trash are left on the street, rainwater washes them straight into drainage grates. Underground, this waste builds up and blocks the flow of water.
When heavy rains arrive, those clogged drains overflow, turning streets into flooded roads in minutes! This creates heavy traffic, damages property, and spreads unsanitary floodwater across our community. Worse yet, that same trash flows into our rivers and oceans, harming marine life.
Proper Trash Disposal Starts With Us! Every wrapper or bottle placed in a bin is one less block in our drainage system.
A clean city is a flood-free city. Let's do our part and throw our trash properly!
