TVL Track Teachers Spread Joy Through Adopt-a-Learner Gift-Giving Project

In the spirit of generosity and compassion, the Technical, Vocational, and Livelihood (TVL) Track teachers recently conducted an inspiring “Adopt-a-Learner” gift-giving project that left a significant impact in the SHS-TVL community. Each teacher took on the heartfelt task of identifying a student beneficiary, fostering a personal connection with them while providing meaningful support during the holiday season.

The project, spearheaded by the TVL group, aimed to go beyond academic support and address the personal needs of learners, many of whom face challenges that extend beyond the classroom. Each teacher carefully selected their beneficiary, reaching out to understand their needs, aspirations, and struggles.

The highlight of the initiative was the culminating gift-giving day, where students gathered with their teachers for camaraderie and joy. Personalized packages were distributed, containing essential items such as school supplies, hygiene kits, and even small tokens that catered to each learner's specific interests or necessities.

The Adopt-a-Learner project not only uplifted the learners but also strengthened the bond between teachers and students, reinforcing the role of educators as mentors and advocates for their students’ holistic development.

As the TVL group looks to the future, they plan to make the project an annual tradition, hoping to inspire others within and beyond the TVL group to replicate the initiative. This simple yet impactful project is a testament to how small acts of kindness can leave lasting impressions, reminding everyone of the power of community and care.

PREPARING FOR SUCCESS IN THE KITCHEN

In the bustling corner of a Senior High School specializing in the Technical-Vocational (TechVoc) Track, a group of aspiring chefs took a significant step toward their dreams. These students, focused on Cookery, recently underwent an Institutional Assessment to prepare for the prestigious National Competency Assessment (NCII) administered by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).

The Institutional Assessment serves as a simulation of the TESDA competency evaluation, mirroring the rigors and standards of the national certification. For these students, it was not merely an exam—it was an opportunity to showcase their skills, learn from their mistakes, and refine their craft under the watchful eyes of experienced assessors.

The assessment was a comprehensive evaluation of the students' mastery of core competencies, including food preparation, cooking techniques, sanitation, and safety. Teams worked tirelessly to create delectable dishes, adhering to industry standards and time constraints.

With the Institutional Assessment completed, these students are now more confident and eager to take on the NCII. Their journey reflects not only the effectiveness of the TechVoc Track but also the students' resilience and passion.

For these aspiring chefs, the kitchen is their classroom, and the NCII is their gateway to a brighter future. As they gear up for the final assessment, they carry with them the hopes of their families, the support of their ANS TVL community, and the promise of a career where their talents will shine.

In every dish they create, these students cook up not just food but a recipe for success.
