was established in June 2010 with partnership and technical support of CHILDFund Philippines. CHILDInitiative is a child-focused, non-profit and disability-inclusive organization aims to protect and empower children, youth and their communities in the most marginalized situations in the Philippines. OUR WORK
Currently, CHILDInitiative works in 1 region, 3 provinces, 3 cities/municipalities and in

45 communities with 44,000 total participant reach including children, youth, parents, community members and stakeholders. CHILDInitiative delivers age and developmentally appropriate, inclusive, contextualized, gender and culturally sensitive and holistic programs with focus on children with disabilities, children in natural hazards, children in urban and rural poor situations and LGBTQI children and youth. IMPACT GROUPS
In general, CHILDInitiative impact groups belong to 0-5 years old, 6-14 years old and 15-24 years old focusing on the following children’s situation on deprivation, exclusion and vulnerability:

1. Children in Natural Hazards
3. Children in urban situations
4. LGBTQI children and youth


TARGET GROUPS
In life stage 1, the following are the target groups: pregnant women, lactating mothers and caregivers of children from zero (0) to five (5) years old, service providers, ECD worker like Day Care Worker, SNP Facilitators, barangay health workers and barangay nutrition scholars and local institutions providing services for integrated early childhood care and development. In life stage 2, the following are the target groups: teachers, school heads, local school board, school governing council, parents-teachers association, children associations, local council for the protection of children, child protection committee and other service providers working on child protection and basic education. In life stage 3, the following are the target groups: youth associations, youth facilitators, parents, caregivers and other service providers working on child protection, youth participation, and adolescent sexual reproductive health, among others. In community-cross cutting programs, the following are the target groups: local council for the protection of children, local disaster risk reduction offices, disabled people’s organization, advocacy groups, civil society organizations, partners, and other service providers related to the implementation of the project.

CHILDInitiative Pastoral Community celebrated the 31st National Children's Month on November 28, 2023, at San Joaquin Sports Stadium, Purok 3, San Joaquin, Iloilo, with the theme "Healthy, nourished, sheltered: Ensuring the right to life for all".

This one-day event began with a parade and was made possible through the partnership of the Local Government Unit of San Joaquin, the San Joaquin Bureau of Fire Protection, the Municipal Police Station, the participation of children beneficiaries, youth volunteers and facilitators, parent volunteers, and field staff, Miss Charity May Barroca, CYDRM-Project Coordinator, and Miss May Ann Satioquia, SR-Aide.

The participants in the aforementioned activity were nourished with a wealth of ideas and knowledge on a variety of topics provided by different important individuals. The San Joaquin Municipal Police Station under the supervision of PCPT Felix F. Perez, OIC through Pssg Razel Mae S. Lagarto, WCPD PNCO and Pssg Angelie S. Orfelia, PCAD PNCO talked about "Good and Bad Touch”. The San Joaquin Fire Station headed by SFO3 Ariel S. Sabale through FO3 Kris Vincent S. Torreflores, FO2 Jhon Eric Esponilla, FO2 Junelo G. Cielo, FO1 June Mark M. Aynaga, and FO1 Ann Claire C. Labordo conducted a “Fire Square Road Show” which they discussed fire safety protocols, introduced the various fire fighting equipments and fire drill – imparting awareness on fire prevention and response.

On the afternoon, Ma'am Grecil Gaurana, the San Joaquin local youth development officer (LYDO), gave a short discussion on the rights and responsibilities of children.

The children's faces were beaming as this year's Children's Month celebration came to an end. All of the participants, including the visitors, parent volunteers, facilitators, members, and staff, worked together in achieving the goal in championing children as agents of change.

CHILDInitiative conducted a tree planting activity with the help of parent volunteers, parents of the CHILD Initiative beneficiaries and YES O Club teacher in-charge at Sta. Rita Elementary School last October 19, 2023.
