September 24, 2025 (Wednesday)

BAGYONG 'OPONG' LALO PANG LUMAKAS HABANG KUMIKILOS WEST SOITHWESTWARD, WIND SIGNAL NO. 1 ITINAAS NA!

📍Huling namataan ang bagyo sa layong 815 km Silangan ng Northeastern Mindanao kaninang 10AM

🌀 Taglay ang lakas ng hangin na 85 km/h at gustiness na umaabot sa 105 km/h

↖️ Kumikilos ito west southwestward sa bilis na 15 km/h

⚠️ Higit 450 km mula sa sentro ng bagyo ang naaabot ng malakas na hangin nito

⚠️ Ang pinakamataas na Wind Signal na itataas ayon sa PAGASA ay Wind Signal no. 4 habang tumatawid ang bagyo.

EPEKTO NGAYONG ARAW:
🔴 Inaasahang kikilos ang bagyo west northwestward habang tinutumbok ang Eastern Visayas - Southern Luzon area

🔴 Ayon sa forecast track ng bagyo, inaasahang tatama ang bagyo sa Bicol Region sa Biyernes (September 26) ng hapon at tatawirin ang Southern Luzon mula Biyernes ng hapon hanggang Sabado (September 27) ng umaga.

🔴 Patuloy na lalakas ang bagyong 'OPONG' habang nasa Philippine Sea at inaasahang magiging TYPHOON ito bago tumama sa Bicol Region. Samantala, hihina ito habang tinatawid ang Southern Luzon pero inaasahan pa rin na nasa TYPHOON o SEVERE TROPICAL STORM ito at muling lalakas kapag nasa West Philippine Sea na ang bagyo.

🔴 Inaasahang lalabas ito sa PAR sa Sabado (September 27) ng gabi o Linggo (September 28) ng umaga.

⚠️ Aasahan ang malakas na bugso ng hangin, malawakan at peligrosong pagbaha at pagguho ng lupa sa maraming lugar na apektado ng bagyo at Habagat.

Manatiling updated sa lagay ng panahon at sa bagyo na si 'OPONG' dahil posible pa ring magbago ang forecast nito. MAG-INGAT, MAGPLANO, MAGHANDA at MAKINIG sa local disaster officials.

Ilang bagyo ang ating aasahan sa mga susunod na buwan? 🌀⛈️

Inaasahan na 10-19 na bagyo ang maaaring mabuo o pumasok ng Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) simula buwan ng Mayo hanggang Oktubre ngayong taon 2025.

Makikita sa infographic na nasa ibaba ang climatological tracks ng mga bagyong dumaan at pumasok ng PAR mula taong 1948 hanggang 2015 at ang bilang ng mga bagyo na maaring mabuo kada buwan.

Ang pagtaya na ito ay base sa 183rd Climate Outlook Forum ng ahensya noong ika-23 ng Abril 2025. Ang susunod na update ay gaganapin sa 184th Climate Outlook Forum sa darating na ika-28 ng Mayo 2025.

As of 2:00 PM today, 06 May 2025, the Low Pressure Area (LPA 05a) being monitored inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) has an UNLIKELY chance of development into a Tropical Depression within the next 24 hours.

Another Low Pressure Area (LPA 05b) is being monitored inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and also has an UNLIKELY chance of development into a Tropical Depression within the next 24 hours.

All are advised to monitor updates from DOST-PAGASA.

Location of Center (10:00 AM): The center of Tropical Storm KRISTINE was estimated based on all available data at 335 km East of Virac, Catanduanes (13.7°N, 127.3°E)

Intensity: Maximum sustained winds of 65 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 80 km/h, and central pressure of 994 hPa

Present Movement: West northwestward at 10 km/h

Extent of Tropical Cyclone Winds: Strong to gale-force winds extend outwards up to 720 km from the center

Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) will continue to affect most parts of Luzon. Moderate to heavy rains is still possible along the western section of Luzon.
