With deepest sadness, the Philippine Red Cross announces the passing of Governor Rosa Rosal.

For over 7 decades, Gov. Rosal devoted her life to the service of the Red Cross. She championed voluntary blood donation across the country, strengthened PRC’s welfare services, and used every platform she had to promote compassion, volunteerism, and the protection of the most vulnerable.

Gov. Rosal leaves behind a legacy of genuine service, dignity, and love for humanity, a legacy that will continue to guide the Philippine Red Cross and inspire generations of volunteers.

Details of the wake will be shared once arrangements have been finalized.

Amid the challenges brought by Typhoons Tino and Uwan, you stood strong, offering your time, energy, and compassion to those in need. From providing hot meals and welfare support to setting up child friendly spaces and assisting in evacuation centers, your dedication truly embodies the Red Cross spirit of humanity and service.

Together, we prove that no storm can wash away the heart of a volunteer.

Leptospirosis is a bacterial infection transmitted through exposure to water or soil contaminated with the urine of infected animals, commonly during flooding. This disease may lead to serious complications if not promptly managed.

𝙋𝙧𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙈𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙪𝙧𝙚𝙨:
• Avoid wading in floodwater when possible
• Use protective boots or gloves if exposure cannot be avoided
• Keep any open wounds properly covered
• Wash thoroughly after contact with potentially contaminated water
• Seek immediate medical attention if symptoms such as fever, muscle pain, or redness of the eyes occur following exposure

During emergencies or disasters, it’s important to have a Go Bag ready that can last for 72 hours. Include essentials like water, food, medicine, flashlight, and important documents.

We may not control disasters, but we can always choose to be prepared.
