SURFERS’ CLOSET is calling for vendors who want to ride this 2-day swap-and-sell bazaar with us.

We’re looking for surfers, makers, and coastal brands who challenge throwaway culture and mindless consumerism— giving items a second life through reuse, rewear, repair, and rewilding.

We’re paddling out with something fresh. 🌊

SURFERS’ CLOSET is a 2-day holiday swap-and-sell bazaar riding the best sets of the season: reuse, rewear, repair, rewild.

Surfers from around the Philippines are dropping in to swap and sell preloved gear, clothes, boards, vintage goods, books, artworks, crafts, and more.

A few coastal brands stoked on circularity and ocean-friendly living are cruising into the lineup as well.

Local musicians will serenade us on the shores of beach break at sunset.

Regular surf o’clocks throughout the day—community rides with vendors who want to flow.

Today we mark 53 years since the declaration of Martial Law — a chapter of our history many of us were never truly taught in school. It reminds us that some of the most important lessons in life are not found in the classroom. Maybe we wouldn’t still be in the streets today, fighting the same system, if we had learned the truth back then.

That’s why we teamed up with Ilocana teacher CJ Bisares & the teens at LCC club to co-create PAJAMA PARTY — a new hangout at Lifeboat that explores lessons often left untold through watching movies together. Our first gathering happens next week, and we’re so stoked to invite you to join us for a sleepover of learning together at home! For this opening night, we begin with stories from Martial Law. Co-presented with Lingsat Care Club, The Coastal Teacher, Wise Owl, and Democracy Discourse Series. 🛏🎥

Every time someone stays at Lifeboat, we sketch them when they leave. What started last November as a small ritual has become our way of keeping them with us—a simple drawing, but also a marker of care, of time shared, of community growing quietly by the sea.

On Instagram, we keep little time capsules—portraits paired with photos and videos of our days together. On Facebook, we are planning to just share the sketches as a way of honoring everyone who has become part of this journey.

We began Lifeboat as a lifeline for our own art and life, just renting out a spare room to stay afloat and opening our home to various collaborations. But along the way, our passengers became part of the story. Tbh, sometimes we let them drive this boat. Each one of them matters. Each one has a space in our hearts. 🌊

We’re still not on Airbnb or any of those platforms—we’re keeping this small, a home and a studio we can share with intention.

Stoked to share that we’ve teamed up with our Creasidence art family, and we’re deeply grateful to be creating together for our home’s recovery. 💙

We’re inviting artists to join a 2-day online workshop that will bring together creators from La Union, across the Philippines, and around the world to co-create a collective manga anthology on the theme of “kakaduwa”—the Ilocano word for companion / belongingness.

👩‍🎨 What to expect:
• Learn manga character design & storyboarding
• Collaborate with artists worldwide
• Receive mentors’ feedback on your work
• Publish your page in a digital solidarity zine for La Union
