With pens lifted and a new story ready to unfold, the Pen and Scroll Guild (PSG) proudly presents its newly appointed officers for Academic Year 2026–2027, under the guidance of Prof. Christine A. Ochoa.

United by a passion for language and a commitment to service, these student leaders are ready to serve the BA English Language community with purpose, collaboration, and integrity. Guided by the Chancellor’s reminder to be a T.E.A.M.—Transparent, Empathetic, Adaptable, and Motivated—may this term be marked by meaningful work, shared growth, and faithful stewardship of the Guild’s mission.

Every feast demands its own kind of appetite—a lingering taste of copper, a silence shared over broken bread, or the ravenous hunger for something already lost.

The classes of ELSC 108: Stylistics and ELSC 103: History of the English Language, in collaboration with the BAEL Municipal Student Body Organization (MSBO) and the Pen and Scroll Guild (PSG), request the honor of your presence for the banquet of 𝑽𝒊𝒔𝒄𝒆𝒓𝒂 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑽𝒐𝒘𝒔: 𝑨𝒃𝒚𝒔𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝑨𝒏𝒈𝒖𝒊𝒔𝒉 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑨𝒓𝒅𝒐𝒓.

Where the altar demands a promise, the table demands an appetite. This exhibition serves devotion and devastation as a physical spread—dissecting grief, hunger, and intimate surrender through a collection of uncompromising poetry and prose. Here, the body is both host and meal, offering a raw look at what happens when our deepest longings are laid out to be consumed.

Step into the CAS Lobby this July 28, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, to partake in what remains.

This Christmas season, the Pen and Scroll Guild invites the BAEL community to step into a corner of creativity, warmth, and holiday magic through Gifts of Words and Wonder — a month-long interactive exhibit celebrating stories, wishes, and the spirit of giving.

Join us in exploring three meaningful showcases:

𝗕𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗝𝗼𝘆: 𝗠𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗚𝗶𝗳𝘁𝘀

Receive a small surprise by completing fun, light challenges prepared by the Pen and Scroll Guild. Each mystery gift is a reminder that even small acts can spark joy during the holidays.

𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗮𝘀 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗘𝘅𝗵𝗶𝗯𝗶𝘁

An open wall of holiday messages from students and faculty. Write a greeting, share a memory, send a warm wish, or simply spread kindness. Whether simple or artistic, your card becomes part of a shared December story.

A display of original poems inspired by this year’s theme, “When the Stars Listen Closely,” a reflection of the quiet magic of December— the memories we hold close, the wishes we whisper to the night sky, and the soft glow that guides us through the season.

Let your words become lanterns for others to feel, read, and remember.

Guidelines for Poetry Submission
1. Open to all BAEL students and faculty.
2. Theme: “When the Stars Listen Closely” — poems should reflect the gentle wonder of Christmas: night skies, memories, hope, wishes, togetherness, and the magic that lingers during December.

- Speech Choir
- Reader’s Theatre
- Poetry Out Loud
- Radio Drama
- Extemporaneous Speaking
- Essay Writing
- Poetry Writing
Reading is where it begins,

When we read, we listen.
When we write, we remember.
When we perform, we give our words life.
Go beyond reading,
feel the words, speak the stories, and live the literature.

The Bachelor of Arts in English Language Department, spearheaded by the BAEL MSBO and PSG officers, celebrated Teacher’s Day through a heartfelt gesture of appreciation for the faculty. On October 9, 10, and 15, the officers visited the faculty offices to present a sash and a thoughtfully curated gift box filled with care products—symbols of gratitude for their tireless dedication and unwavering passion for teaching.
This simple yet meaningful act reflects the organization’s deep admiration for the educators who continue to illuminate minds, nurture growth, and inspire purpose within and beyond the classroom...
