Ferdinand E. Marcos was born in Sarrat, Ilocos Norte. A former representative of Ilocos Norte and President of the Senate, Marcos was the 10th President of the country, serving from 1965 to 1986.

During his administration, one of the notable vehicles used for presidential duties was the 1980 Lincoln Continental Mark VI Signature Series. Marcos opted for this model due to its adaptability, as it could be customized to provide a more expansive interior. The interior was elegantly designed with blue and gray velour, complemented by wood and chrome accents. Even in the 1980s, the Lincoln Continental was equipped with advanced features, such as keyless entry and a digital gauge cluster, which included a computer system that displayed fuel levels and estimated time of arrival.

The Lincoln Continental Mark VI Signature Series is a 4-speed automatic vehicle, powered by a 5-liter V8 engine, capable of producing up to 130 horsepower.

Can aviation investment help transform the Philippines into a regional aerospace and maintenance hub?

Major aviation-related projects are creating opportunities to strengthen the country's role in aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), aerospace manufacturing and specialized engineering services.

At Clark, Pampanga, Lufthansa Technik Philippines has broken ground on a new aircraft maintenance facility, with operations targeted for 2028. Meanwhile, JAMCO Philippines has committed at least ₱600 million over its first three years for its expansion at Clark Aviation Capital.

These developments highlight the potential of Philippine aviation infrastructure to attract substantial investment, generate skilled employment and expand technical capabilities.

The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) also plays an important role in supporting registered enterprises within economic zones, complementing broader efforts to strengthen the country's investment environment.

Sustaining this momentum will require skilled workers, competitive infrastructure and deeper integration into global aviation supply chains.
