WHAT IS PAPSMEAR?

The test can detect abnormal cells in the cervix before they become cancerous. Healthcare providers often perform HPV tests during Pap tests to check for HPV, one of the leadin causes of cervical cancer. An unclear or abnormal Pap smear result may be a sign of infection, another problem or cancer.

"Learn. Prevent. Screen."

The vast majority of cervical cancer cases are caused by human papillomavirus (HPV). A sexually-transmitted agent that infects
the cells of the cervix and slowly causes cellular changes (dysplasia) that can result in cancer.

While cervical cancer has the highest number of fatalities it is the most preventable among RH cancers. Go to the nearest FPOP Clinic or local health clinics near you to get screened.

Let us advocate for access to essential HIV services, reach out to vulnerable populations, SPEAK OUT AGAINST STIGMA and DISCRIMINATION; and help young people and the communities take leadership in the AIDS response. 🫱🏻‍🫲🏼

May this campaign foster not just in December, but for as long as there are still stigma and insufficient services for people living with HIV/AIDS ❤️
