A MAPEH education graduate from the University of St. La Salle – Bacolod, Michael dedicated over six years to Sum-ag National High School as a passionate teacher and versatile coach for swimming, sports dance, folk dance, and the school pop band. Originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, and holding Italian nationality, Ignacio’s eclectic international career has spanned South America, Europe, Australia, and Asia. Now based in the City of San Fernando, Philippines, he is the Co-Founder and Head of Digital Products & Performance for BYND Digital Marketing Services, where he has spent years spearheading intentional, results-driven brand strategies and web development for over 30 clients across four continents. 🌏✨

Ignacio’s exceptional marketing instinct is strongly backed by an impressive technical foundation. He holds a background in Computer Engineering and previously sharpened his analytical skills as an Application Development Senior Analyst at Accenture and as an IT Consultant. RCSFLU Strengthens Humanitarian Commitment Through Philippine Navy Medical Supply Turnover

The Rotary Club of San Fernando La Union (RCSFLU) demonstrated its continued commitment to humanitarian service through the donation and turnover of medicines and vitamins to the Civil Military Operations Unit of the Philippine Navy on May 08, 2026.

The supplies are intended to support the Philippine Navy’s upcoming mission to Camiguin Island, where personnel will be conducting outreach activities for remote and underserved communities. The donation reflects the Club’s responsiveness to urgent needs and its support for field-based humanitarian missions.

The turnover activity highlights the importance of partnerships between civic organizations and uniformed services in delivering essential aid to communities that have limited access to healthcare resources. Through this collaboration, RCSFLU contributes to strengthening the reach and effectiveness of public service missions.

Club representatives expressed their support for the Navy’s efforts, emphasizing that even simple contributions such as medicines and vitamins can make a meaningful difference in the success of outreach operations. RCSFLU's Regular Meeting Inspires Leadership and Service

The Rotary Club of San Fernando, La Union (RCSFLU) conducted another Regular Meeting, reaffirming the club’s steadfast commitment to Rotary’s core values of service, leadership, integrity, and fellowship. The gathering provided a meaningful platform for learning, inspiration, and the strengthening of camaraderie among members.

The meeting featured CP Rogelio “Roger” G. Santos, a distinguished Rotarian and accomplished executive, who shared valuable insights from more than three decades of professional and civic leadership. Emphasizing the Rotary principle of Service Above Self, CP Santos encouraged members to integrate excellence, ethical leadership, and compassion in both their personal and professional lives.

His message underscored the importance of visionary and values-driven leadership, highlighting how Rotarians can create lasting impact within their communities. As a Charter President and a true leader, CP Santos further inspired members to take active roles in advancing Rotary initiatives and nurturing future leaders.

RCSFLU Hosts Coast Guard Commander for Insightful Discussion on the West Philippine Sea

The Rotary Club of San Fernando La Union (RCSFLU) convened its 23rd Regular Meeting, highlighted by an engaging and timely presentation from Alexander Picart Corpuz, Acting Station Commander of the Philippine Coast Guard – La Union. Serving as the guest speaker, CDR Corpuz delivered a compelling talk on the topic “The West Philippine Sea,” providing Rotarians with valuable updates on the current maritime landscape and the continuing efforts to safeguard the country’s territorial waters.

During his presentation, CDR Corpuz discussed the strategic importance of the West Philippine Sea to national sovereignty, maritime security, and regional stability. He shared insights on the operational responsibilities of the Coast Guard, including maritime patrol, humanitarian assistance, environmental protection, and the enforcement of maritime laws within Philippine waters. His talk highlighted the multifaceted role played by the Coast Guard in ensuring safety and security at sea.

The presentation also shone a spotlight on the courage and dedication of the country’s maritime personnel. Often operating under challenging conditions, Coast Guard officers and personnel serve as the nation’s frontline defenders of maritime territory and resources. Their commitment exemplifies service, resilience, and patriotism—values that resonated strongly with Rotarians present during the meeting.

Rotarians actively engaged in the discussion, raising questions and exchanging views on maritime awareness and national responsibility. RCSFLU Advances Grassroots Empowerment Through RCC Loan Release and Community Site Visit

On May 10, 2026, the Rotary Club of San Fernando La Union (RCSFLU) continued its community empowerment efforts through two significant activities focused on livelihood support and infrastructure monitoring.

In partnership with PP Fred, the Club released its first financial assistance loan to RCC Abut amounting to ₱100,000 at 3.5% per month on which the interest will go to the RCC to fund their projects and programs. This initiative is designed to support livelihood development and strengthen economic opportunities for members of the Rotary Community Corps in Barangay Abut.

The loan release represents an important milestone in the Club’s commitment to sustainable grassroots development. By providing structured financial assistance, RCSFLU aims to empower communities to initiate and manage small enterprises that can generate long-term income and stability.

On the same day, the Club also conducted a visit to Baraoas Chapel in Brgy. Baraoas to monitor the progress of ongoing improvements supported by the Club. This includes the earlier donation of 200 tiles in partnership with RCC Baraos, which is part of the community enhancement project.

The visit allowed Club members to assess developments firsthand and coordinate with local stakeholders to ensure continued progress. It also reaffirmed the Club’s commitment to accountability and sustained engagement in community infrastructure initiatives.

Together, these activities highlight RCSFLU’s holistic approach to service—combining financial empowerment, infrastructure support, and active stakeholder collaboration to create meaningful and lasting community impact.
