From the Office of the Directress, St. Scholasticaβs Academy Pampanga
With profound sorrow and deep reverence, we join the universal Church in mourning the passing of our beloved Holy Father, Pope Francis.
As the shepherd of our Catholic faith, Pope Francis led us with a heart full of mercy, humility, and unwavering love for the poor and marginalized. His life was a testament to the Gospel β marked by a tireless pursuit of peace, dialogue, and compassion in a world often in need of healing.
For us Benedictines, whose motto is Ora et Labora β to pray and to work β Pope Francis exemplified this sacred balance. He prayed deeply, he worked tirelessly, and he lived simply. His papacy reminded us to "go to the peripheries," to listen with the ear of our hearts, and to care for our common home. He was a living echo of Christβs tenderness in our modern times.
To our dear Scholasticans, may this moment of loss be transformed into a moment of grace. Let us continue to carry the torch of his legacy β to build a Church and a world that is more inclusive, more loving, and more rooted in justice and truth.
We entrust Pope Francis to the eternal embrace of the Father, confident that the Good Shepherd now welcomes him home. May his memory inspire generations to come, and may his soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
With prayerful hearts,
