The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) announced on Monday stricter implementation of the ban on alcohol and gambling in public areas and other measures as it rollout its “Safer Cities Initiative” in Metro Manila.

NAGVI-VIDEOKE LAGPAS 10PM, HUHULIHIN?!

Ayon sa ulat ni Jun Veneracion sa Balitanghali, paiigtingin ng DILG ang Safer Cities Plan, isang kampanya laban sa mga inuman sa kalye, nagvi-videoke at mga pagala-galang kabataan sa gabi.

Ayon kay DILG Sec. Jonvic Remulla, pasensyahan na lang daw dahil manghuhuli na sila kapag may nakitang nag-iinuman sa kalye, nagvi-videoke lagpas 10PM at kapag mayroong menor de edad na pakalat-kalat ng lagpas 10PM.

Ang mga mahuhuli raw ay iimbestigahan at ang parusa ay depende raw sa ordinansa ng mga lokal na pamahalaan.

Uunahin ang Metro Manila sa pagpapaigitng ng Safer Cities Plan at saka isusunod ang iba pang urban areas, ayon kay Remulla.

Ipinagbabawal na ang pag-inom ng alak sa mga lansangan at iba pang pampublikong lugar sa buong bansa, ayon sa Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG). Kasabay nito, paiigtingin din ang pagpapatupad ng curfew para sa mga menor de edad.

Ayon kay DILG Secretary Jonvic Remulla, saklaw ito ng Anti-Public Intoxication Act kung saan bawal ang pag-inom sa kalsada pati ang paglalatag ng mga mesa at upuan para sa inuman. Binigyang-diin niya na isa ang public drinking sa mga sanhi ng gulo at sexual harassment sa mga lansangan. Maaari pa ring uminom sa loob ng bahay, ngunit mahigpit na ipinagbabawal ito sa mga pampublikong lugar.

Pinayuhan din ang mga menor de edad na umuwi na bago mag-10:00 ng gabi, alinsunod sa mas pinaigting na curfew ordinances. Maaaring hulihin ang mga lalabag, lalo na kung hindi makapagpapakita ng patunay na sila ay nag-aaral o nagtatrabaho.

Please be informed that face-to-face classes in all public and private schools across all levels in the City of San Fernando are suspended tomorrow, March 23, 2026, as ordered by Mayor Vilma Balle-Caluag.

The suspension is due to the planned Nationwide Transport Strike (“Transport Holiday”), where only a limited number of public utility vehicles are expected to remain operational, affecting students' access to their respective schools.

Given the situation, schools may implement online or other alternative learning modalities to ensure the continuity of education.

Further, schools that are rehearsing for recognition and commencement rites—which require the physical presence of the learners—may proceed as scheduled, provided that the safety of the learners is prioritized and monitored.
