On the 8th of August, 2026, the Student Council participated in the regional launching of the Young Ones (YO!) Movement in Pampanga at the Heroes Hall.
The Young Ones Movement Regional Launch aimed to promote participatory governance against graft and corrupt practices. It brought together students from across Central Luzonโparticularly from Bataan, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Tarlac, and Zambalesโto speak for what is right, true, and beneficial for all.
Guided by the organizers and together with the other volunteers, the Student Council assisted in serving guests and delegates through the distribution of food and water, embodying the Benedictine hallmark of hospitality.
With the delegates and participating groups gathered, each branch of the organization entered the hall through a welcoming parade. Once everybody was settled, the program officially began with the statement of current issues in our country and the opening remarks of YO! Pampanga President, Jillian Sinchongco.
The opening speeches were then followed by the band performances of NAYOBIII and AKU, engaging the audience with their electrifying music.
After the other regional presidents, delivered their speeches, the keynote speaker, Senator Risa Hontiveros, was welcomed. She talked about the need for the courage of the young generation in times of conflict and corruption within our nation, sharing her own experiences during her youth and inspiring the crowd.
The event concluded with a spectacular performance by Taylor Sheesh, ensuring that every attendee left entertained, motivated, and fulfilled.
Overall, this event was more than a mere gathering and the celebration of the youth. It served as a door to more leadership opportunities, and a platform to speak up against the injustices around us.
