Alhamdulillah, by the Mercy of Allah,
Bro. Abdurrahman Marzo, one of our dedicated Alhuda Volunteers, paid a heartfelt visit to our dear Muslim brother, Bro. Rosito Opeña Jr, who is currently admitted at ITRMC Hospital. Bro. Rosito, despite his illness, expressed a strong desire to reconnect with his faith and learn more about Islam, especially about how to pray while sick.
Bro. Abdurrahman took the time to offer words of encouragement, shared Islamic teachings, and reminded him of the beautiful concessions Islam offers to the sick in performing their prayers — whether sitting, lying down, or even by gestures, depending on one’s capacity.
Islam places great virtue in visiting the sick. As mentioned in the Qur’an:
“And We send down from the Qur’an that which is a healing and a mercy to those who believe…”
— Surah Al-Isra (17:82)
And from the Hadith, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:
“When a Muslim visits his sick Muslim brother, he is harvesting the fruits of Paradise until he returns.”
(Sahih Muslim, 2568)
Also, the Prophet (SAW) said:
“When a Muslim visits a sick Muslim in the morning, seventy thousand angels send blessings upon him until evening. And if he visits him in the evening, seventy thousand angels send blessings upon him until morning, and he will have a garden in Paradise.”
(Tirmidhi, 969 – Hasan)
Let us all keep Bro. Rosito in our du’as. May Allah grant him complete shifa’, strengthen his Iman, and make this trial a means of elevation in the Hereafter. Ameen.
اللَّهُمَّ اشْفِهِ شِفَاءً لا يُغَادِرُ سَقَمًا
“O Allah, grant him a cure that leaves no illness behind.”
