Sa bisa ng Proclamation No. 1128 na nilagdaan ni Pangulong Rodrigo R. Duterte ngayong araw, idineklara niya ang taong 2021 bilang 'Year of Filipino Pre-colonial Ancestors' habang ang April 27 bilang isang special working holiday kaugnay ng paggunita sa ikalimandaang taong anibersaryo ng pagkapanalo ng ating mga ninuno sa Labanan sa Mactan.

Ang deklarasyong ito ay bahagi ng 2021 Quincentennial Commemorations in the Philippines na pinangangasiwaan ng National Quincentennial Committee, Republic of the Philippines

This 2021, we will commemorate the Philippine part in the achievement of science and humankind in circumnavigating the planet for the first time. Central in this commemoration is the 500th anniversary of the Victory at Mactan on 27 April 2021. These and more are collectively known as the 2021 Quincentennial Commemorations in the Philippines by virtue of Executive Order No. 103 (2020).
