We are the NU Lingap or Guild of Empowered Individuals from Non-Traditional Families, a support group and based on Home and Family Relationship Enhancement Program of Guidance Services Office (GSO). In order to help the students to move forward and achieve their goals, the school through guidance and lingap support group can intervene in making the environment worthwhile guided by the institution'
s core values such as compassion, resiliency and respect. In Filipino family setting, extended families are very much entertained and valued. Filipino families tend to live with relatives in their homes to keep the bond among themselves. In connection, this support group integrates the culture and idea of being in an extended family to address the underlying concern of students about their experiences, specifically, in their family systems. Furthermore, we also aim to address concerns related to academic, personal, and other matters. We believe that family has essential role to hone the child's environment that is why we stand as a family for their journey in National University. Come and join our growing family if you identify yourself among the following non-traditional classifications. This support group is here for you regardless of your family status: (1) Separated parents, (2) OFW parents, (3) With single parent due to death of spouse and others, (4) Children cared by grandparents and relatives, (5) Living in an extended family, (6) LGBT+ parents, (7) Adopted child, and (8) Student living on their own.
