𝐊𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧-𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐊𝐚𝐘𝐀) joins young people in celebrating 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 with the theme, “𝐃𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐱𝐭𝐬, 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐨𝐧 𝐀𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬.”

From different schools, communities, organizations, and walks of life, young people may carry different experiences and face different realities but we share a common hope: a future where every young person is heard, empowered, and given the opportunity to create positive change..

For KaYA, this is what youth empowerment means: connecting diverse young people, building their capacity, and turning shared aspirations into collective action. ✊🌱

May we continue to bridge our differences, learn from one another, and work together toward communities that are inclusive, sustainable, peaceful, and resilient.

Katin-Aran Youth Association congratulates ChildInitiative, for securing the recognition of getting the remarkable achievement of being the Regional Winner of the 2025 Rafael M. Salas Kaunlarang Pantao Awards (RMSKPA) Search for Transformative POPDEV Strategies by Civil Society Organizations yesterday, July 30, 2026, in celebration of the 2026 World Population Day at the Grand Xing Imperial Hotel, Iloilo City.

The said award was victoriously redeemed by Melba Descalsota, BOT Corporate President; Lourdes Miado, BOT Treasurer; John Patrick Sedantes, Executive Director; Rhil Rowel Lauriano, Program and Sponsorship Coordinator; Kent Matthew Labiang, Program and Sponsorship Coordinator, and Senior AHD Facilitators Rodney Barrios and Ller Grace Cawaling, proud representatives of the organization.

𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗡𝗼𝘄 | 𝐊𝐚𝐘𝐀 𝐉𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐀𝐆𝐑𝐈𝐃𝐀𝐌: 𝐀𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐑𝐢𝐬𝐤 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭

Katin-aran Youth Association (KaYA) is proudly participating in the AGRIDAM (Agents for Risk and Damage Management) training held in Dumaguete City from July 21–23, 2026. The program is organized by the National Youth Commission and the Office of Civil Defense.

Representing KaYA are Keanu Ivan Agana, President of KaYA, and Ryan Panganiban, Youth Volunteer. Through this initiative, they join fellow youth leaders from across the country in strengthening their knowledge and skills in Community-Based Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (CBDRRM), disaster preparedness, climate resilience, and youth-led community action.

As environmental stewardship and climate resilience remain among KaYA's core advocacies, this participation reinforces our commitment to empowering youth as proactive leaders in disaster preparedness, climate action, and community resilience. Through this learning opportunity, our delegates will gain practical knowledge on risk assessment, disaster preparedness, emergency response, and community engagement—skills that they will bring back and share with fellow young people in our communities.

At KaYA, we believe that today's youth are not just beneficiaries of resilience-building efforts—they are catalysts for change. By investing in youth leadership, collaboration, and local action, we continue our mission of championing empowered young people who are ready to respond, lead, and build a more resilient future for all.

The Katin-aran Youth Association (KaYA) proudly celebrates another milestone as our President, 𝙆𝙚𝙖𝙣𝙪 𝙄𝙫𝙖𝙣 𝘿. 𝘼𝙜𝙖𝙣𝙖 participated in the 𝙋𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙥𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙚 𝙔𝙤𝙪𝙩𝙝 𝘿𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙡𝙤𝙥𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙋𝙡𝙖𝙣 – 𝙍𝙚𝙜𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙄𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧-𝘼𝙜𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙮 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙞𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙚 (𝙋𝙔𝘿𝙋-𝙍𝙄𝘼𝘾) 𝙍𝙚𝙜𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙑𝙄 𝙈𝙚𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 for the first semester of 2026 held via zoom.

Keanu serves as a member of the PYDP-RIAC after being elected as the Secondary Regional Convenor for Region VI during the 13th National Youth Parliament held in Vigan in November 2025.

The PYDP-RIAC is a regional body that coordinates the implementation, monitoring, and localization of the Philippine Youth Development Plan by bringing together youth leaders, Sangguniang Kabataan Federations, Local Youth Development Offices (LYDOs), national government agencies, and other key stakeholders across Region VI.

This milestone shows KaYA's commitment to nurturing quality young leaders who lead with purpose, inspire positive change, and become strong voices for the youth. By creating opportunities for meaningful youth participation in governance and policy-making, we continue to empower young people to serve their communities, champion youth development, and help shape a more inclusive and progressive future for the next generations. 💚
