We are speaking today not just out of frustration, but out of genuine concern for the people who are supposed to benefit from government assistance.

Let us be honest: giving rice is supposed to be an act of service, not an exercise of power. It should be organized, transparent, fair, and based on a system that respects every person who is entitled to receive it.

But what happens when the distribution itself is unfair? What happens when there is no clear system, when some people are prioritized while others are left behind, with just a STAB!!
STAB that was given on the first batch of the release! And some were not able to get that STAB because the release day were working days.. are we supposed to miss work for this? Because authorization is not an option!

That is where the problem begins. How can you call it public service when you make people stand in extremely long lines for hours, under severe heat, hungry, exhausted, and sometimes even without knowing whether they will actually receive what they came for?

People are not numbers. They are human beings.

They have jobs to attend to. They have families to take care of. Some are elderly. Some are already struggling financially. And yet they are expected to spend hours standing in the heat just to receive something that was intended for them in the first place. And worst they will end up nothing on hand as they go home!!

And let’s set this straight:
the rice being distributed is not anyone’s personal property. It does not belong to the person handing it out. It belongs to the people—provided through public funds and government resources for the benefit of the community.

So nobody should act as if they are doing people a personal favor.

We should be grateful for government assistance, yes—but gratitude should never mean that we are expected to remain silent when something is clearly unfair.

What we need is an organized and systematic approch of distribution! LGU’s hired smart people with high calibre yet organizing such an activity was poor and unjust!

A proper list. Clear qualifications. Transparency. Equal treatment. Accountability. Those should be present and followed!

If you cannot implement a simple and fair system for distributing something as basic as rice, how can people trust you with bigger responsibilities?

We are not demanding something that does not belong to us. We are asking for what is rightfully intended for the people.

And we are not complaining simply because we want to complain. We are speaking because silence allows unfairness to become normal.

Do the job properly. Follow a fair system. Be transparent. Be accountable.

If this rice is meant for the people, then distribute it to the people—fairly, properly, and without discrimination.

That is not too much to ask.

That is the bare minimum of good governance.

Pride Month: Celebrating Diversity, Equality, and Love Around the World

Every year in June, people across the globe celebrate Pride Month to honor the LGBTQIA+ community and recognize the ongoing journey toward equality, acceptance, and human rights. Pride Month commemorates the historic Stonewall Riots of June 1969 in New York City, which became a turning point in the fight for LGBTQIA+ rights.

Today, Pride Month is observed in many countries through parades, educational events, cultural celebrations, community gatherings, and advocacy campaigns. It serves as a reminder that every individual deserves respect, dignity, and the freedom to express their identity without fear of discrimination.
Around the world, LGBTQIA+ communities continue to make significant contributions in education, science, arts, sports, business, and public service. Pride Month highlights these achievements while also raising awareness about challenges that many people still face, including discrimination, inequality, and barriers to equal opportunities.

The rainbow flag, one of the most recognized symbols of Pride, represents diversity, inclusion, and unity. Each color symbolizes different aspects of the human experience, reflecting the richness and beauty of the LGBTQIA+ community.

Pride Month is not only a celebration but also a call to action. It encourages people from all backgrounds to promote understanding, support equal rights, and foster communities where everyone feels safe, valued, and respected.

As we celebrate Pride Month, let us embrace diversity, stand against discrimination, and recognize that a more inclusive world benefits everyone. Together, we can create a future where love, respect, and equality know no boundaries.

Supreme Court of the Philippines Recognizes Co-Ownership in Same-Sex Relationships Under the Family Code

Manila, Philippines — LGBT Pilipinas welcomes and celebrates a landmark and historic decision by the Supreme Court of the Philippines, which formally recognized co-ownership of property in same-sex relationships under Article 148 of the Family Code. This ruling marks a monumental step forward in the legal recognition of LGBTQ+ families and relationships in the country.

This decision acknowledges a long-standing reality: LGBTQ+ couples form genuine partnerships that involve mutual contribution, shared responsibilities, and joint economic efforts. The recognition of co-ownership ensures that partners in same-sex relationships are afforded protection against unjust loss of property and are treated with dignity in legal proceedings.

LGBT Pilipinas views this ruling as a powerful affirmation that the Constitution’s guarantees of equal protection extend to LGBTQ+ Filipinos. While this decision does not yet establish marriage equality, it lays a crucial legal foundation for broader recognition of same-sex relationships and strengthens the push for comprehensive anti-discrimination protections.

LGBT Pilipinas remains committed to advocating for full equality, including the passage of the SOGIE Equality Bill and the continued expansion of legal protections for LGBTQ+ Filipinos. This victory reminds us that progress is possible—and that justice, though long delayed, can move forward.

This is a win not only for the LGBTQ+ community, but for fairness and justice in Philippine society as a whole.

As we celebrate the start of a new year, let's acknowledge the love, acceptance, and resilience that define us. We've come a long way, but there's still work to be done. Let's continue to advocate for equality, inclusivity, and justice for all, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.

To everyone who's been marginalized, excluded, or hurt, know that you are seen, heard, and valued. You belong, and your life matters.

Let's make 2026 a year of love, acceptance, and empowerment for the LGBT community. Together, we can create a brighter future for all.

As your president, I'm honored to stand before you today. We gather at a pivotal moment, surrounded by challenges and opportunities. Our community has faced adversity, but we've also celebrated triumphs.

We've fought for equality, and we've made progress. We've built a community that's vibrant, diverse, and strong. But we know there's still work to be done.

As president, I promise to advocate for our rights, amplify our voices, and support our well-being. I'll work tirelessly to create a world where everyone can live authentically, love without fear, and thrive.

To those who've been marginalized, excluded, or hurt, I see you. I hear you. You belong, and your life matters.

Together, let's build a brighter future – and continued the best thing we can do for each other.
