Ar. Margarita B. Maestro, UAP is a founding member of the UAP-CAPIZ Chapter chartered in 1990. As the ๐๐๐ง๐จ๐ฉ ๐๐๐ข๐๐ก๐ architect in the province of Capiz, she served as Chapter Secretary for 10 years before becoming the Chapter President for two terms in 1990-2001.
In July 2001, she served as the District Director for the then Regional District C2, which is now C4. She actively pushed for the formation of another chapter in 2023, which is the UAP Capiz Tumandok Chapter, in response to the growing number of young architects in the province. Her major accomplishments include the adoption of the Architectural Code of the Philippines, prepared by UAP in 2000, as a reference code to the National Building Code in the City of Roxas. Subsequently, she successfully implemented and enforced RA 9266 in her capacity as Building Official in the same city in 2009-2010 under the leadership of former Mayor Vicente B. Bermejo, Mayor of the municipality of Roxas City.
In 2025, she was one of the resource persons invited by the Sangguniang Panlungsod to craft and enact Ordinance 038-2025, which Authorized Licensed and registered architects to sign and seal architectural documents for all Building Permit applications. She is a licensed Environmental Planner and retired in 2022 as the City Environment and Natural Resources Officer after 32 years of government service.
Awarded as one of the Pillars of HALIGI in 2024 during the UAP Regional District C4 Joint Induction and Turnover and Recognition Ceremony. As she spearheads the continuation of the chapter's CSR activity in 2026, "A Helping Hand " for dystonia patients in Panay, Capiz, her unwavering dedication and commitment to the UAP objectives continue to inspire the younger generation of architects to strive for excellence, integrity and professionalism.
Beyond her roles and responsibilities in the UAP, she passed the Environmental Planning Board Examination in 2019 and became a Licensed Environmental Planner. She also graduated with a Master of Management major in Public Management through the
local scholarship program of the Civil Service Commission at the University of the Philippines โ Visayas, Iloilo City, Iloilo Province, and she was also a pollution control officer.

๏ October 07, 2024- She actively participated in the celebration of World Architecture
Day together with the officials of the Roxas City Government. She served as one of the judges in the Architectural Design Competition held at the Roxas City Hall Session Hall, together with the Vice Mayor of Roxas City, Hon. Teresa โIndayโ H. Almalbis.
