🕋 Eid'l Adha Holiday Advisory: Pursuant to the Bangsamoro Holidays Act of 2023 and in line with the traditions and festivities of Eid'l Adha (Feast of Sacrifice), the Bangsamoro Darul-Ifta' has officially declared June 15 as the Day of Arafah (Special Non-Working Holiday), June 16 as Eid’l Adha and June 17 as the 1st Day of Tashriq (Special Non-Working Holiday which coincides to the Regular Non-Working Holiday declaration of Malacañang as well).

The Bangsamoro Darul Ifta (BDI) is pleased to announce the upcoming moonsighting event to mark the advent of the blessed month of Ramadan 1445. As the Hadith dictates, the moonsighting for the commencement of Shawwal shall take place on the 29th of Ramadhan, falling on April 9, 2024.

This significant event will be held at BDI Grounds, Bangsamoro Government Compound, RH-7, Cotabato City. This marks a special occasion for our community to come together in anticipation of the parting of this sacred month.

We extend our invitation to all members of the Bangsamoro community to join us in observing the end of the sacred month. Your esteemed presence at this event will enrich our collective experience as we embark on this holy journey together.

Pursuant to Bangsamoro Grand M***i Abdulrauf Guialani's guidance and pronouncement, the Bangsamoro Darul-Ifta' BARMM shall conduct the annual Moon Sighting Activity this Tuesday, April 09.

Watch the official declaration at the Bangsamoro Government’s official Facebook and YouTube handles and the Bangsamoro Darul-Ifta's official page.

The sighting of the moon or lack thereof shall determine the end of fasting for the Holy Month of Ramadhan and subsequently, the celebration of Eid'l Fitr or the “Feast of Breaking the Fast.”

RAMADAN MOONSIGHTING ACTIVITY OF NCMF-NCR ON APRIL 9, 2024

The NCMF-NCR Regional Office headed by Regional Director Dr. Dimapuno A. Datu-Ramos, Jr., will be conducting a moonsighting activity on April 9, 2024 through the Cultural Affairs Division led by Chief Esmael Abdul, MD.

Malacañang Palace had previously announced that April 10, 2024 is a regular holiday nationwide in observance of Eid'l Fitr.

Sa mga nagabisita sa People's Park agud maglantaw sang fountain, amon ginapahibalo sa inyo nga ini bukas kada adlaw kag nagaandar umpisa alas - 11 sang aga tubtob alas - 10 sang gab-i.

May ara kita sang FULL SHOW sang fountain 6:00 PM- 6:15PM, 7:00 PM-7:15PM kag 8:00-8:15 PM. Apang magadepende ini sa dalagan sang panahon. Mahimu naton ipaiway (cancel) ang FULL SHOW kon malain ang panahon kag mabaskog ang hangin.

Kami nagapangabay gid sang inyo suporta kag kooperasyon sa pagmentinar sang katinlo sa lugar kag pagdumili sa anuman nga sahi sang pag-abusar ukon bandalismo sa aton park.

Photographer Giorgia Hofer has created a breathtaking masterpiece titled "Moon Cycle in One Image." This composite image, shared on Reddit, showcases the changing phases of the moon over the Cridola Group peaks in Italy. Hofer captured 28 shots of the moon throughout the year to create this stunning composition.

To photograph the moon, Hofer utilized her Nikon D750 camera with a Sigma 120-400mm lens set at 400mm. For the landscape, she used her Nikon D750 with a Nikkor 20mm lens, setting the exposure to 8 seconds, ISO 800, and aperture f/8. Despite the assumption that it would take a month to capture this image, it actually took Hofer nearly a year due to unfavorable weather conditions.

The image showcases the moon's changing phases, with the waning phases on the left side of the image captured in January, and the waxing phases on the right side captured between July and December. The moon's pattern in the sky, known as an Analemma, is a result of the Earth's axial tilt and the slight eccentricity of our orbit around the sun.

Hofer's photograph not only captures the beauty of the moon's cycle but also highlights the intriguing celestial phenomenon that influences its appearance in the sky.
