Anawim is a small facility for poor and abandoned elderly people in Rizal Province, Philippines, founded by Catholic lay preacher Bo Sanchez. Its purpose is to provide a home to those poor and abandoned elderly who have been rejected by their families and have nowhere else to go.

HAPPY 31st ANNIVERSARY, ANAWIM! 🎉 For 31 years, Anawim has been a place of love and second chances for our lolos and lolas. 🥹❤️

To everyone who has prayed, served, volunteered, donated, and journeyed with us through the years, thank you for being part of this mission. This milestone would not have been possible without each one of you. Maraming salamat po sa inyong pagmamahal, tiwala, at patuloy na pagsuporta. 🫶🏻

Sa loob ng 31 taon, sama-sama nating ipinadama kina lolo at lola na hindi sila nag-iisa at lagi silang may tahanan at pamilyang masasandalan. 💖

EVERY 3 O'CLOCK AT ANAWIM 🙏🏻 Every day at 3 PM, our lolos and lolas gather to pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet—isang sandali upang huminto, manalangin, at ipaubaya ang lahat sa Diyos. ❤️

Ang mga sandaling ito ay paalala sa amin na ang Anawim ay hindi lamang isang tahanan, kundi isang pamilyang sama-samang umaasa at nagdarasal. 🫂🫶🏻

MEET LOLA NILA, 93 Y/O, OUR LOLA WITH A HEART FOR SERVICE 🥰

Lola Nila is 93 years old and still enjoys helping wherever she can. From joining spiritual activities here in the shelter to assisting in preparations before Holy Mass, she finds joy in serving others. Masaya siyang tumutulong sa abot ng kanyang makakaya. 🫶

She grew up in Negros Occidental in a family of six siblings and is now the only one left among them. Life was once comfortable for their family, but after her father's passing, things slowly changed. As financial difficulties arose, Lola Nila had to set aside her dream of continuing her studies and stop after elementary school.

At the age of 20, she moved to Manila and worked as a cook for many years. She was married, but they did not have any children. After her husband's passing in 1995, Lola Nila was left without a family to support her in her old age.

Her journey eventually led her to Anawim, where she was admitted in 2015. 💛

Today, despite her advanced age, Lola Nila remains independent with minimal assistance. She continues to joyfully serve in small but meaningful ways within our community.

SUMMER OUTING OF OUR LOLOS AND LOLAS ☀️🌊 As part of their quarterly outdoor activity, they enjoyed a refreshing summer outing in one of the resorts here in Montalban. Mula sa simpleng kwentuhan hanggang sa masayang tawanan at kulitan, every moment was truly special. 💕

Thank you to everyone who continues to make experiences like this possible for our elderly. Dahil po sa inyo, mas marami pa silang masasayang alaala at moments na mae-enjoy. 🥰
