100thousand Pencils Project Helping children get ready for school. Our advocacy | Due to poverty, many families struggle to send their children to school. Boor in Cardona Rizal.

Since most of their families’ incomes are spent on food, a lot of children start school without tool for learning such as pencils, paper, and other educational materials. This situation prompted us, a group of friends mostly alumni of Rizal National Science High School, to take action. In 2005, we successfully organized our first outreach project by donating school supplies to incoming Grade 1 stu

dents in Brgy. The experience taught us that even a small act can make a big difference, and made us realize that much is still needed to be done and more children deserve proper education. What started as a one-time outreach project became a yearly activity since 2010. We are very grateful to the increasing support we received that contributed to the success of our outreach activities.

We successfully turned over sandals and shirts to the Brgy. Puray Tour Guide Association, who kindly volunteered to facilitate the distribution to the students of Sitio Quinao.

Sitio Quinao is home to the indigenous Dumagat tribe. Sadly, educational infrastructure in the community remains underdeveloped, making every bit of support crucial for the children.

As another school year approaches (2026–2027), we once again invite you to be a beacon of hope in a child’s life. Through this annual initiative, we aim to help young learners return to school equipped, confident, and ready to dream.

We are accepting donations in the form of:
Pencils
Notebooks
Paper
Crayons
Erasers
Sharpeners
…and other essential school supplies

Monetary donations are also welcome and will go directly toward providing what our students need for the coming school year.

Every contribution—big or small—creates an opportunity for a child to learn, grow, and succeed. Together, let’s continue building brighter futures, one child at a time.
